Over a decade ago I wrote in @JewishChron about the antisemitic impact of the 'Zionism is racism' formula on British campuses in the 1970s. People arguing that the new Green Party policy won't affect Jewish rights would do well to read it thejc.com/opinion/hatred-at-…

The Green Party motion on Zionism is antisemitic from first principles, extremist in its call for Israel to be eliminated, and likely to be anti-Jewish in its impact. A grim day for British Jews. everydayhate.substack.com/p/…

Handy guide this. All British political parties to have adopted the policy of Zionism is Racism. 👇
You cannot say you will never tolerate any form of discrimination or harassment whilst standing on a platform that uniquely requires Jews to forfeit self determination or pass a purity test in order to be considered not racist.
Replying to @PippaCrerar
The Green party’s five MPs issue a statement saying: “We will always uphold universal human rights. We will never tolerate any form of discrimination or harassment.
"We will continue to stand in opposition to genocide, ethnic cleansing, apartheid and the illegal occupation.
"We will continue to call out the heinous crimes of the Netanyahu government. And we will continue to work to ensure that the Green party is an anti-racist party in every way.
"We know there is no conflict between supporting the rights of Palestinians and the rights of Jewish people."

After the “Zionism is Racism” UN motion spearheaded by the Soviet Bloc & Arab League in 1975 (repealed in 1990), there was a concentrated campaign at universities around the UK to ban Jewish societies.
Not Israel societies.
Jewish societies.
We know where stuff like this leads.

I understand that given the passing of this motion, leaders of local authorities run by the Greens, as well as Green MPs, will be contacted and asked these questions.
I imagine most will not have the courage to answer.
The Green Party decision today is a disgrace and its position now an extremist one. There is a long history to this debate and it always manifests as abuse of Jews. I fear for what is to come. Whether the motion will pass the legal tests that will no doubt follow is to be seen but any party which fails to pass an amendment seeking to enhance safety for its Jewish members should be doing some deep soul searching. Disgusting.

The amendment to safeguard Jewish members was defeated: 684 in favour, 1,026 against. More than a thousand delegates voted against those protections.
This is a deliberate rejection of Jewish members’ right to participate without discrimination. A party that votes against protecting Jews while debating whether their self-determination is racist is practising the racism it claims to oppose.

Some of our courts seem determined to let anti-Israel extremists say and do whatever they want, even to the point of desecrating a national monument with a call for a global Intifada. This is not tenable if you want antisemitism to reduce and Jews to feel safe.

The Green Party statement in this piece by @Geri_E_L_Scott is disingenuous. At no time, and at no other party conference has @antisempolicy had to mutually agree the content of a fringe, and that was not the case in this instance. What are they afraid of? thetimes.com/article/453398b…
Luciana is absolutely right. I was in court for Bonehill-Paine's sentencing, and dealt with his racist antics long before that. I think there are many questions that still need answering. I have raised my concerns through the appropriate channels and will continue to do so.
I’ve written this about today’s events. Pretty grim, but there was more to say than a thread on X (for a non subscriber) allows.

Thanks for the call, Matthew. Its amazing that you were able to reach me using a banana but life is strange.

Diversity is the joy of life! I can tour party conferences with @antisempolicy doing events on conspiracy culture and also have fun making docs about surrealism. But as @DannyStone1 always says, mockery is a powerful weapon against conspiratorial fantasies.
Wish I could talk to you about the world. Missing you my friend. 20 years but you're still with us. Will be looking to you for the inside track when we meet again...
