Replying to @Dansommer
Who will come up with a social platform that incentivizes and identifies common ground in different viewpoints. That synthesizes ideas, rather than fragments? Perhaps companies that do swarm and collective intelligence @UnanimousAI have part of the answer?

Elon Musk’s visible shock when confronted with the fact that London is safer than American cities exposes a massive gap between social media algorithms and statistical reality.
Despite the endless stream of online panic about ”dangerous” European capitals, the numbers don’t lie: London is objectively safer than almost every city in the United States.
The idea that London is a crime-ridden wasteland is a triumph of online disinformation, allowed to spread unchecked on platforms like X because it fits a specific political narrative.
The actual data shows that London's homicide rate sits at roughly 1.1 per 100,000 people. To put that in perspective, 100 out of the 100 largest US cities (!!!) have higher homicide rates than London, and 49 out of 50 US states are more dangerous on this metric. London achieves this safety record despite being a massive, diverse global hub of nine million residents.
Critics often point to property crime or phone snatching to argue that London is worse, but using petty crime to ignore murder statistics is fundamentally flawed. Criminologists rely heavily on homicide rates because non-fatal crime statistics are notoriously harder to compare and more unreliable. Theft, sexual violence, and minor assault reporting rates fluctuate wildly depending on how much citizens trust local police or whether they need a police report for an insurance claim. Forms of non-lethal violence also vary based on legislation: you will naturally see more stabbings in a country with fewer guns, and more gun violence in a country with more guns.
Homicide, by contrast, is an absolute and objective metric. It measures the ultimate form of violence, correlates strongly with overall severe crime, and leaves almost no room for underreporting. It counts all forms of lethal violence in an unhackable way. It is impossible to claim your city is safer than London if you have a five times higher homicide rate, even if London scores worse on theft.
London has plenty of room for improvement, but American commentators living under drastically higher murder rates should clean up their own backyard before preaching to others

Swedish pension funds invest in American funds that fly to Stockholm to lead rounds in Swedish startups
The round-trips (business or first class, ofc) fees alone could fund an early company
Our pension capital, managed in Boston, taking 2-and-20, to back Spotifys next competitor
Meanwhile top Swedish funds are sitting right here, with better founder networks, better sector knowledge, and better European exit infrastructure
I get it. The Napa Valley LP meeting is nice. But that’s not a capital allocation strategy
Sweden produces more tech unicorns per capita than almost anywhere on earth. Our funds can lead most of those rounds. They’ve been doing it for 20 years
Is this actually about returns, or is it about someone on an investment committee wanting a reason to fly to the West Coast?

Bo Andersson. Mr Bo. Men framför allt: Super-Bo!
It is amazing.
This is what it looks like when politics works and your government invests in its people and doesn’t borrow money to give tax breaks to billionaires.
Welcome to Finland, a country where young people are proud to do military service (and kick the ass of US soldiers in military exercises by the way). This is the country where people don’t resent paying taxes to deliver better services for everyone.
Just for clarification Finland is a capitalist country with a highly developed market economy, not a socialist one. It operates as a "welfare capitalist" state or Nordic model.

What's happening? Bondi Beach, Rob Reiner. We all need to dial down the rhetoric now. It's not censorship, it's about the messages pushed in the discourse. I hope social media tapers out completely - it's failed. Perhaps LLMs, which draw to the mean, can soothe the polarisation.
Spaning: ingen vill skaffa barn, men alla vill ha husdjur. Parkeringen utanför Älvsjömässan överfull.
How is it even a question? This early period was magical. But they started losing their way already in 76. Ace always wanted to keep it authentic.
Yes, but it flies me to Budapest for 30 quid…
