Metabolic syndrome is associated with poorer brain health.
This includes reduced brain volume, increased vascular issues, and impaired cognition.
Metabolic syndrome involves having at least 3 of these: larger waist circumference, high triglycerides, high blood pressure, elevated HbA1c, or low HDL cholesterol.
