Alex Caruso says it has become “cool to not watch basketball,” arguing that highlight culture and viral storylines are overshadowing the actual game
Caruso believes basketball coverage has shifted away from breaking down great plays and showing fans the best moments from games toward chasing whatever generates the most clicks and attention. He says he misses the old SportsCenter format, where viewers could catch several minutes of highlights from different games before the Top 10 plays. Caruso argues that the focus on entertainment, clip farming and eye grabbing storylines is drawing attention away from the quality of basketball itself.

The basics of basketball are getting lost. Fundamentals are being replaced by highlights.
Too many players would rather take 6 dribbles to create a step-back 3 than use 1–2 dribbles to attack a gap and make the right read.
Everybody wants the highlight. Not enough players want to make the right basketball play.

I cannot wrap my head around the endgame here. If you destroy the planet, crash the global economy, and leave ordinary people too broke to buy anything, what exactly are billionaires planning to do with all that money? Sit in underground bunkers staring at bank balances while the world falls apart? Wealth is only valuable when there's a functioning society around it. So what exactly are they trying to win?

The NBA today will spend $2–5M evaluating talent early to avoid a $50–60M mistake later. Guards 6’4” and under are plentiful and REPLACEABLE every single year. Size buys patience; scoring gets attention. ADAPTABILITY, PROFESSIONALISM and IMPACTING WINNING sustain careers.

Most people in France can't afford housing.
They didn't blame immigrants, or transgender people, or video games, or avocado toast.
They blame the government. Because that's who's responsible. That's always who's responsible.

80,000 people can storm a football field after a win .
But we can’t get 8,000 to protest insane taxes and a collapsing dollar.
How do you tell someone that whoever led them down that development path did them wrong?
Or do you sit back and watch them waste time, money, and resources trying to make something work that won’t?
When do you speak up, and when do you let the results speak for themselves?
