Today's training session @STCFireServices was rope rescue - a great refresher for all our firefighters. Maintaining these specialized skills is critical to our firefighters, residents and visitors to St. Catharines @St_Catharines @IAFF485 @firefighters_st

#FireSafety includes battery safety. Never charge your phone or electronic device under your pillow at night. Phones, tablets and laptops should be charged with the device on a hard surface.

#DYK: Deadly house fires tend to occur late at night and in the early morning. That is why it's essential to ensure you have working smoke alarms. Working smoke alarms save lives! #ONfire #Firesafety

#DYK A closed door may slow the spread of smoke, heat, and fire – and could make a life-saving difference in your home. Make closing the bedroom door part of your nightly routine before you go to sleep. #CloseBeforeYouDoze #FireSafety

Keep #FireSafety in mind before the next #winter storm approaches. Blowing snow can lead to snow drifts. Remember to clear snow away from your home’s exhaust vents, like a dryer or heating system vent. #WinterSafety #COSafety

Happy to represent @St_Catharines on the Ontario Fire Chiefs Board of Directors meeting. We met with Solicitor General Kerzner yesterday at Queen’s Park to discuss AMPS and Next Generation 911 funding the province is providing. Great conversation and happy to accept the funding!
