Thought for the day: "In a market where the marginal buyer is an idiot it doesn't pay to be too smart"
*PANAMA MOLTO RECOMMENDS 'ORDERLY CLOSURE' OF COPPER MINE

We are all familiar with the Big Mac index as a measure of the dollar's purchasing power. Of course most private wealth managers (our clients) don't eat Big Macs, so I asked @bot to create a price index for a basic Porsche 911 since 1972 in both dollars and gold ounces. The price in dollars has risen 19 fold over the period while the number of ounces needed is a quarter of what it was in 1972.
An elegant reminder in our AI age:
“Just as few adolescents can ever believe that their parents have been through the same stages of attitude and development before them, so one of the more frequently recurrent fallacies has been people's belief that their own age is without precedent, that some new order is coming to birth in which all the general assumptions previously made about human behaviour are becoming somehow outmoded. In few ages has this belief been more prevalent than our own.”
Christopher Booker, The Neophiliacs (1969)
*TRUMP ADMIN TO AWARD $2B TO BATTERY, MATERIALS COMPANIES: WSJ.
Sad. If the US thinks they are going to build an integrated battery chain with that kind of money they are sadly mistaken. 15 years behind China.
Worth reading for any TSV speculator who wants to understand how the conflict of interest between management and shareholders can sometimes play out in Canada $EMO
For once the Ontario Securities Commission is taking action and shareholders of EMO also are waking up.

It remains to be seen how the courts deal with this.

The Nexgen short report. Says the company is a management enrichment scheme. Who could have guessed?
The kangaroo ate my homework. Aussie golds underperforming the AUD gold price by 4% so far this year. Is @DebraG_Robins the only bull downunder?
Important.

There's widespread scepticism in Western equity markets about the sustainability of recent moves in metals prices. Chinese investors on the other hand don't seem so cautious.
Chart shows the three producing tin stocks and Shanghai tin futures rebased to 0 as at 1st Nov.
Only Yunnan has provided any leverage to the tin price while AFM has undeperformed the metal badly.
Let's see who is right.
