Some personal news… I’m delighted to be taking on the role of Integrated Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, helping to put customers at the heart of Britain’s railway as we move towards Great British Railways. I’m really looking forward to working with colleagues across the industry on what comes next.
A huge thank you to my amazing team at @LNER. It’s been an absolute privilege to lead you for over a decade and I’m incredibly proud of everything we’ve achieved together.

From joining as an apprentice at King’s Cross in 1978 to working on the InterCity 225 fleet, his career spans almost half a century of railway history.

New drone technology is helping our teams respond more quickly and safely to severe weather on the East Coast Main Line.
By providing views of hard-to-reach areas, drones can help engineers make informed decisions to keep passengers and freight moving.

Imagine having a Chairman of a public sector organisation who is well respected by the Civil Service inc the Treasury.
The other 97,000 of us can fill in the Railway experience part and get him up to speed. I am looking forward to meeting our new Chairman next week.👇
A banking executive will become the chairman of Labour’s Great British Railways (GBR) quango on a £250,000 salary – despite never having worked in the rail industry ⤵️

Improving train punctuality - we have equipment on 9 of our trains to monitor the overhead line electrical system for defects. Here are three examples of faults the system has identified in recent weeks - found and fixed before failure, avoiding delays. Another great example of @LNER and @NetworkRailEC teams working together to deliver a better railway for everyone 👇
