We share @WFP_SouthSudanโ€™s condemnation of threats against humanitarians in Jonglei by armed groups, forcing the offloading of aid that will no longer reach those in need. Deeply concerning this occurred in front of local authorities. Authorities must ensure unhindered access.
The United Nations World Food Programme strongly condemns a severe security incident and the forced offloading of humanitarian food assistance during a recent river convoy operation in Ayod County, Jonglei state Read more here๐Ÿ‘‰ shorturl.at/OwHZt

Throwback with outgoing British Ambassador to South Sudan, @Davidwillashley. During his posting, he always advocated for peace, inclusive governance, credible elections, investment in education, health and better use of public resources. All the best in your next chapter, Sir.

Yesterday, we joined friends and colleagues to bid farewell to UK Ambassador to South Sudan, @Davidwillashley as he concludes his time in the country. His farewell reflections were encouraging and hopeful: life remains incredibly difficult for ordinary South Sudanese, and the road ahead will be long. But South Sudan also has enormous opportunities in its people, natural resources and beauty. On behalf of the @POFSouthSudan team, thank you, David, for your partnership, openness and commitment to working through South Sudanese partners to make a difference. We were also delighted to sit down with him for a special POFcast conversation reflecting on his experiences and lessons from the past two years. Please see the link below to listen to his thought-provoking views. @Davidwillashley wishing you all the very best for what comes next. #SSOX

In todayโ€™s farewell call with the Hon. Minister of Finance & Planning, I reaffirmed ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡งโ€™s support for the ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ธ people. I stressed the need for ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ธ to use more of its own revenues to fund essential services, including paying its long overdue co-financing to the HSTP health programme.
