As soon as slurry mixing starts, the gas is released very quickly and in large quantities (just like a shaken fizzy drink bottle being opened) – that’s why you must get out of the shed immediately.

HSC staff in Northern Ireland deserve fair pay and equal treatment with colleagues across the UK. The continued delay in implementing the 3.3% pay award is unacceptable. Staff have waited long enough. Make your voice heard and have your say in the indicative ballot
HSC staff in Northern Ireland are still waiting for the 3.3 per cent pay award for 2026/27, which colleagues elsewhere in the UK have already received.
We have opened an indicative ballot to see if members would consider taking industrial action over the delay.
