Some people have taken the wrong path. One should never underestimate the Somali people, a community that has endured decades of conflict and hardship. Such a history has fostered resilience, courage, and considerable experience in confronting adversity.
I feel sorry for those Oromo who are attacking Moyale, because this is not only a political miscalculation but also a serious military and strategic mistake.
Such actions risk escalating tensions and creating consequences that could have been avoided through wisdom and dialogue.

1934 Garre Somali community were there, in what was called Garriland. Same with all communities that live there now.
And they were in dawa zone since 1600, 1700 nearly 400 years ago and were in Moyale before boranas came there. So that lies is debunked there.
Boranas are the ones who came to Moyale as refugees when colonialists came to horn of Africa and you were welcomed by Garre community and then now started killing innocent people and trying to invade land that's not theirs.
In terms of Kenya, it's not a banana republic, there is law and order, and every community lives in its land. So your feeble attempt to paint us as the bad guys will not work.
We Somali people have played our part in the creation of Kenya, contributed to the well-being of the country, defended the country with our lives, and continue to contribute to Kenya with everything we got.

Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale flagged off the finals of the 33rd Maralal International Camel Derby in Samburu County, highlighting the eventโs contribution to cultural preservation, tourism and the local economy.
Hosted by Samburu Governor Lati Lelelit, Duale joined participants and spectators from across Kenya and the international community for the annual sporting and cultural event.
Duale underscored the derbyโs significance to the Samburu community, noting that it celebrates camel-rearing traditions and the enduring relationship between residents and animals that have sustained livelihoods for generations.
Beyond the races, the event provides business opportunities for local traders, artisans and hospitality operators. Visitors support the local economy through spending on accommodation, food, traditional handicrafts and other goods and services.
Turning to politics, Duale rallied support for President William Rutoโs 2027 re-election bid, citing the Presidentโs development record and political experience as reasons to support his continued leadership.
He criticised opposition leaders, accusing them of promoting tribal politics instead of presenting a clear development agenda for Kenyans. He also questioned their preparedness to govern.
Others present included Nominated Senator Hezena Lemaletian, Digital Health Agency Chief Executive Officer Eng. Anthony Lenaiyara and former Samburu Woman Representative Maison Leshomo.
