I have a rare condition called “Oh, Shit!” At least that is what each of the specialist doctors who have seen me have said in their examination rooms. For the last 9 years or so, I have been in a parallel decline with our country and it isn’t pretty.

4 years ago, I left my faculty position in academic medicine, due to a toxic work environment, embedded in racism and sexism, to focus on my company Advancing Health Equity.
I didn’t realize at the time I was making a life vs. death decision.
