Kevin Bacon says Jack Nicholson gave the full "You can't handle the truth" speech all day long, even when the camera was only on the other actors "Rob Reiner started with Jack's coverage." "And Jack is either over his shoulder or off camera for the rest of the day" "And he just kept doing that speech again and again and again" "But he's still just acting his ass off for everybody's coverage." Nicholson had his close-ups done by lunch. Every take after that was for the other actors, and he kept giving them the real thing in a sweaty Marine uniform. Those reaction shots in A Few Good Men land because he never let up off camera. ft: @sxsw SXSW on youtube

This tribute Ron’s daughter put together really hits home. To this day, when my daughter calls from New York or sends a message saying, “I love you, Dad,” it brings tears to my eyes. It’s what that word means to me: someone she trusts, looks up to and knows she can turn to, whatever life throws at her. Having that place in your children’s lives is an incredible privilege. Knowing that one day they’ll have to carry on without you in this crazy, crazy world is both frightening and heartbreaking. Rest in peace, Ron Duguay.
Oh Dad💔💔💔💔, I don’t even know what to say. My heart is so broken that I feel like I can’t breathe half the time. 💔 These last two years have been such an emotional roller coaster, and I have never in my life witnessed someone fight so hard to live. You wanted to be here so badly. You fought with everything you had, not just for yourself, but for all of us. As painful as these last two years have been, they have also been one of the greatest blessings of my life. Being able to walk through it all by your side, spending so much time together, and making memories I will cherish forever. Maybe that was God’s gift to us all along. Two years ago, things looked so scary, but you kept fighting. You fought long enough to meet Ranger, to make so many more memories with your kids and grandkids, and to give us time together we might not have otherwise had. Life slowed down, and we learned to cherish every little moment with you. I will hold those memories close to my heart for the rest of my life. Dad, I am just so sad. It physically hurts. I already miss our daily phone calls, sometimes multiple times a day, talking about anything and everything. I miss your voice, your laugh, and knowing I could pick up the phone and call you whenever I wanted. Even when you were going through the hardest battle of your life, you were still such a rock in ours. You brought so much joy to everyone around you. You were truly the funniest person, and somehow, even in your final days, you still found ways to make us laugh. I have never known anyone stronger than you. I am so incredibly proud to be your daughter. I would give anything for more time, but I find peace knowing you are no longer hurting and are finally healed in the arms of Jesus. I love you so much, Dad. I wasn’t ready for a life without you. I don’t think I ever would have been. Until I get to hug you again. ❤️

An evil, vile person who is also deeply broken by the system she grew up in, with only one chance to make things right: Carrie. Unfortunately, she refused to take it. And the saddest part is that Carrie might have been the one person willing to help her if she'd only put her pride aside and genuinely apologized amid her own personal downfall. For a brief moment, I really thought she might finally have a change of heart and choose to be better. But her hatred ultimately consumed her, and watching her spiral further into her own destruction was genuinely exhausting. Truly the most compelling and vulnerable portrayal of Chris Hargensen we've ever gotten. Alison Thornton absolutely knocked it out of the park ❤️
can’t begin to describe the unbridled joy i experienced every time something bad happened to her

The show has its flaws, for sure, particularly the underwhelming finale, but this Chris Hargensen might be one of the best-written characters and performances of the entire year. It's just a brilliant portrayal of a complex and three-dimensional villain. Despite knowing how the story goes, I genuinely had hope that she could've realized that her hatred and jealousy were destroying her, and that she still had a chance to become a better person. That bathroom scene was perfect. How I truly wish she had chosen to make peace with Carrie instead, because Carrie could've been the one and only genuine friend who stood by her amid her personal downfall, perhaps even helping her find the redemption she desperately needed. The previous versions of Chris never made me feel this way about her.
I genuinely believe that Alison Thornton gave us the BEST version of chris hargensen. Her performance is insane, I haven’t genuinely hated a character like that in forever, but somehow she still makes me feel a little bad for her. It takes so much talent to pull that off.

Chocado que essa atriz tem 27 anos e interpretou perfeitamente uma adolescente de 18 na série. ALISON THORNTON!
Não é brincadeira o quanto essa aqui atuou em CARRIE. Roubou todas as cenas e me causou o maior ódio de 2026.

People keep saying she’s a psychopath or sociopath but she can’t be. You can easily see through her facade and suffers. She feels. I don’t think she’s a sociopath. I think she’s a popular high school senior.

She's the best Chris Hargensen for me because this is the version of Chris that I could've encountered in real life Alison Thornton is an icon for playing this role. She's amazing!

This actress is insane. She makes my blood boil but then there are scenes where she becomes a regular scared teenage girl and it's so heartbreaking and then she switches right back to making me want to strangle her. 10/10 performance she needs to be in everything

Alison Thornton plays THE Chris Hargensen that this particular version needs the most. She’s perfect, and I absolutely loved her Chris. The way she says “I’m sorry” as her last words before getting crushed, because she’s finally begging Carrie for mercy when she had every opportunity to apologize to her before, is truly heartbreaking. It makes her death feel much more nuanced and impactful. And I genuinely thought this one was one of the most improved part of the story. The previous versions of Chris were either portrayed as completely evil, which is totally fine, I love me some evil Chris, or given very little depth. In some versions, we only see her and Billy’s car fly away, and they die without us seeing their deaths closely enough. Alison’s version, however, feels much more human and layered, which makes her final moments hit so much harder.

Mike Flanagan says Stephen King approved his creative changes in the ‘CARRIE’ series. “The high school & teenage experience has changed radically. There’s a lot new things to say, a lot of new perspectives on this story that we, Stephen King included, felt deserved to be told.”

Prime Video's superb "Carrie" reboot is a Variety Critic's Pick. "This 'Carrie' builds on the essential elements of King’s story while connecting it to his broader universe" and "returns agency to the young women at the center of the story. 'Carrie' reminds audiences that strength and ability don’t always look the way one might expect, and that power comes at a high cost, no matter who wields it."
