🔥VICTORY: Platform Ventures has called OFF the sale of an ICE detention facility in Kansas City. We proved that when we stand united and fight for each other, we WIN. We’ll continue fighting for a future rooted in justice, dignity, and freedom for all who call this city home.
MAJOR UPDATE: City Council removed REACH, the city's first pre-arrest diversion program, from a proposal that would have moved it into the Department of Corrections. This means REACH will remain in the Health Department 🎉 This happened because we organized and spoke up.

HAPPENING NOW:
The KCMO City Council will vote on a plan to build a $25 million, 100+ bed "modular jail" ahead of the 2025 World Cup. This comes after community members rallied widespread opposition to the jail at Tuesday's Finance Committee meeting. Updates posted below ⬇️⬇️⬇️
They said the quiet part out loud: We have been doing a very bad job of taking care of our people and now we have no option but to build a jail.
(Which actually furthers the problem by upholding the status quo and continuing to choose harm over healing.)
