Ah, getting back on the ball on YouTube means it wasn't long before YouTube gave me the good 'ol YouTube welcome home. Got a claim on my classic review of Final Encounter (For the Cause, 2000) from way back in 2012, from "9X Media Pvt Ltd" for using "Jason Statham- Reference Management" audiovisual content. Anyone familiar with the movie or my review should already see the issue. Jason Statham is not in, or in any way involved with, Final Encounter. There were absolutely zero Jason Statham clips used in the review, this claim is just straight out of the ether, with nothing to back it up. Or, as their claim puts it, the entire video is effectively just a supercut of Jason Statham. The thing that still makes me roll my eyes, though? In order to combat this claim, I have to pick from the various options I have to dispute, which still, in all these years, and after so many times this kind of thing has happened... does not have the option that "the claimant is claiming something they don't own and/or does not exist within the content they are claiming." I'm gonna go ahead and assume that YouTube also does zilch to stamp down on this behavior, abusing the content ID system, because... well, they don't care. Not until enough users do something like a class action lawsuit or something. Like, what am I gonna do about it? Tweet into the ether, piss and moan, then continue uploading to YouTube? I'm sure they're shaking in their boots.

youtu.be/FHos3nPOYBM Still not quite as back-to-back on schedule as I would like, but hey! Today we'll be looking at Maniac Cop 2, which answers the age old question "what if the slasher villain came back and just... killed more people?"

So here's the impasse. I could stream some of the new Hellraiser game. It'd probably resonate really well with y'all. However, the precedent has been set that by doing so, YouTube has no problem completely nuking your channel. But for me to simply ignore the new Hellraiser game may in fact be illegal...

youtu.be/jCpImmiPBnQ Today's review is the 80s classic Maniac Cop, which I've just come to find out is actually looking at a remake at some point? Of course I have seen so many of those "in production" factoids that I generally don't believe them until I see a trailer.

I feel like this is all the evidence I need that Xbox is moving in the right direction. People are now positing that they should drop out of hardware and go full 3rd party. This same sentiment has been said for decades about Nintendo, whom famously has been in the green financially just about the entire time. Even the fiasco that was the Wii U came on the heels of the Wii, also known as the Nintendo Money Printer. Of course, the most recent rumblings about Nintendo seem to be more aghast that higher end games are being ported to the Switch 2. Some journalists have posited this is Nintendo "losing it's identity." (Identity? Identity of what, being the novelty that has to stay at the kid's table and can't directly compete?) In the meantime, things at the PlayStation camp have been less than stellar. The system had been relying on 3rd parties for ages now, and within more recent years has shifted 1st party focus almost entirely on live service money sinks that have drained the war chest in record time while only seeing success stories in Helldivers 2, which still suffers from controversies as Sony seems intent on snatching defeat from the jaws of victory even there. On the rare occasion they have put out a single player first party title, the sales have not come nearly to the numbers Sony enjoyed during the PS4 era. Hence, the hurry to kill physical media to maximize profits with the sacrifice of consumer choice. With all of this on the table, Asha reforging Xbox into a more competitive business model that actually does have exclusive content, with teasings that said exclusives could include the likes of TES VI and Kojima's PHYSINT make the idea of the Xbox being a major platform to consider a lot more compelling. (Despite both those examples being unknowns atm and potentially having the same draw as an exclusive Starfield...) Then, there's the rumors about the silicon that's going into the PS6 and Xbox [HELIX] (code name, knowing Microsoft they'll call it something like the Xbox TexMexBox or the like) Unverified sources claim the APUs for both systems have been finalized and are beginning manufacture. If these sources are to be believed, the PS6 will have about 40 tflops in dual-issue mode, and the Helix sitting at about 56 tflops. 56 in... base, single-issue. At that point, the numbers are considerably less believable as they would imply that not only is the TexMexBox over twice as powerful as the PS6, able to easily outperform it's dual issue mode without even engaging it's own dual issue mode - it also posits that if the Cheesy Cravings Box would engage it's own dual issue mode, it could potentially crank out a peak tflop performance metric that would very slightly outpace an RTX 5090. I always like to err on the side of if a rumor sounds like a wishlist, the chance of it being fake increase about 9000%. The more realistic expectation though is that the Jack in the Box will at least be marginally more powerful than the next Playstation. Sony's not in a financial situation to dump nearly as much money into R&D and subsidizing hardware - though Microsoft is known for dialing back a bit and trying not to lose TOO much money selling their hardware, despite their seemingly infinite wealth. Could they make a Deluxe Gordita Box with peak performance higher than a 5090? Sure. Will they, though? Either way, if the situation leading up to the next generation looks like this - Nintendo has a popular handheld with great exclusives and lots of 3rd party support, the BentoBox has the most powerful hardware with highly sought after exclusives and full 3rd party support, and the PlayStation 6 has a middle of the road platform with full 3rd party support, half a dozen live service games no one gives a crap about, and a slow drip feed of exclusives... ...which system sounds the least appealing to you?
Glad they aren't selling their gaming division as competition is good but they seriously need to stop making hardware and just become the worlds biggest and most powerful third party publisher, outside of the US and UK, Xbox hardware is no longer relevant. The Xbox brand is too damaged at this point to compete with Nintendo and Sony in the hardware space.

One thing I like to do is ask Gemini, or any AI really, how to get certain achievements in my visual novel. The thing has absolutely no idea, and just starts making things up, telling me to engage with entire features of the game that don't even exist.

That's certainly a theory. Anyway, check out the lead of my visual novel. She's blonde, white, and busty. Available now on Steam, with a free 3 chapter demo available as well.
Stupid people gonna miss out on peak sci fi action and then bitch about how they got nothing to play just because they can't handle the idea of a female lead that isn't busty, blonde and white.

Gotta say, when I heard there would be weapon modification in EDF 6.2 - I imagined there would be like 1, maybe 2 mod slots if we're lucky. The noob AR alone has 9 slots. Thing's got the granular customization of a mecha game. O_o

This lil clip has been making the rounds, and it's a good example of something I remember seeing a while back. I cannot remember the exact details, but the anecdote goes about like this - a YouTuber was doing some video with a model for reasons, and during said video, they got to talking about the YouTuber's stuff in the pipeline. The model takes out one picture from their shoot, where they look kinda goofy and is like "this looks kinda goofy." YouTuber quickly interjects, citing that said picture was just the base image - that later, they will photoshop in some fire in their hands or something. The model responds cooly that "It should look good, before you add any extra effects to it." Does Wolverine's little impotent rage scene look better with the blood? Yeah, it does. However, it really SHOULD look good even without it. And especially considering Insomniac included and advertised the no-blood setting before launch, that only makes it even MORE important for the scene to look good with no blood. The scene does not look good with no blood.

I could nitpick about the audio not flowing quite as well as it could during some cuts, making them more jarring than they needed to be but.... holy hell...
TALES OF GRIMWICKE — Chapter I is 22 minutes of AI fantasy animation inspired by the many anthropomorphic animal stories I read as a kid, with a dark twist: The model: Seedance 2.5 (@ByteDanceSeed_ ) via @Segmind_ai. 847 takes generated, mostly 30-second multi-shot prompts, over 5 hours of footage. 127 clips made the cut. About $4.5k in generation, four weeks from first take to publish. Characters and locations came out of @midjourney. Using MJ for the location plates was a revelation: the cinematography and art direction are a level above, and it renders far better as a plate than Nano Banana or GPT Image. Nano Banana (@GoogleDeepMind run on @fal) did the heavy lifting editing those plates, building anchor frames and turning MJ characters into turnaround sheets. Then I let Seedance do as much of the framing and camera operating as possible. That gave the best results. A lot of what I do in my Unreal Engine films came with me: a handheld, imperfect camera operator instead of smooth moves, focus hunting, and above all weather and atmospherics. The model does water, snow, smoke and rain really well, and leaning into that is what keeps it from looking like a Temu Pixar film. The tools I built: a portal (Node on @flydotio) that holds the bible, the refs, every prompt and every take, with a Claude agent (@claudeai) that writes the prompts to the house rules. A Premiere Pro (@AdobeVideo) panel that browses the archive, drops selects on the timeline, versions the project, strips music, and sends fixes back to Seedance. Everything is done in 720p with no upscaling, because it looks terrible. Narration is my own voice through @ElevenLabs speech-to-speech. Music from @Artlist_io. None of this would exist without @PJaccetturo and @Kavanthekid. Their narrative work, Nexus and Chronicles of Bone, proved long-form AI film was possible, and their podcasts, newsletters and X posts, updated constantly as the workflow changes under everyone's feet, showed how to actually do it. Chapter II is currently in the works and I will release it initially on my YouTube channel, The Darkest Age (@CharlieDriscollAI). Consider subscribing there to see it as soon as it drops!

Many thanks for featuring Convent Chronicles: Revelation within your video! It was also good to hear your take on experiencing but a taste of the much, much larger narrative. A story built upon mysteries and... well, revelations - the draw to uncover more needs to be strong for the writing to work. But as so many have expressed, it is a real page turner.
Indie Devs! The first batch is ready! It's not very professional, but I'll get better! Hopefully 😀 Sorry for not tagging the Devs, I had over 60 demos and I can't remember who sent what 😰 youtube.com/watch?v=iNBxgvVb…

I mean, back in 2017 when Polter and I got our first 4k TV, the first game I tested on it was Altered Beast. Because Altered Beast.
Imagine spending $1K+ just to play a game you can play on a $230 console 💀

Yes, I know this is clear bait and I'm doing exactly what he wants and the video provided is heavily modded and the tweet itself looks like it was either barfed out by AI or AI assisted in barfing, but hear me out for a second. GTA 3 literally opens with it's inciting incident being the drama between the protag and his SO. The final branch of missions also directly follow cause and effect from more shenanigans with a female character and relationship drama. The game is straight up bookended on male/female romance dynamics. Also, throwing out the obvious one to finish this rant off - dating simulator is a recognized genre in video games. That little send off has the same bite as "Rockstar gave us a video game, not a 3rd person shooter!"
Grand Theft Auto III sold 11.6 million copies on the PS2. Without: A morality system A relationship meter A refueling mechanic Photorealistic graphics And without Lucia Caminos. Rockstar made a game, not a dating simulator.

For the lulz, I just had to use one of them handy dandy DLSS5 injectors to see what the AI filter over the already AI images of my visual novel, Convent Chronicles: Revelation, would look like. As the engine does not support native DLSS, the best I could do was the universal feeder plugin, but it certainly... messes with the shading! Like, a lot. Had to hit the "extra vibrancy" option of course because the default effect also has a tendency to desaturate the whole thing. In case it's not obvious, OG on the left, DLSS 5 on the right.

Yeah, can't wait to learn more about EDF 6.2, but to be honest it's gotten me more hyped for EDF 7, 8, and 8.3.
