Kristen Jenson just declared that pornography is a “silent epidemic” ruining our children’s lives. “Nobody wants to talk about it.” “But it’s hurting children.” “You’re seeing it in the mental health numbers.” “That isn’t just screens and social media.” “A lot of it’s pornography.” “You’re just seeing lives ruined.” “I have so many women coming up and telling me: I’m divorced because my husband was addicted to porn, and I just couldn’t handle it… I’m out of there because I feel so betrayed.” “The good news is that there are tools out there now that help parents begin these protective conversations… teach their children to avoid all of these harms, because they’re probably not going to be able to avoid seeing pornography, but they can avoid just dousing their brain with it.”

“Every school bus in America is a triple X theater because children are showing p**nography to other children in buses. I've heard so many stories of five year olds getting shown hardcore p**nography on a school bus.” Kristen Jenson is the founder of an organization called Defend Young Minds and the author of the “Good Pictures Bad Pictures” series of read-aloud books that teach children how to recognize and reject explicit material. In America, kids are encountering p**n at younger and younger ages—often without their parents knowing, Jenson says. Once a child has a smartphone, it is only a matter of time until the child is exposed to explicit imagery—often by other children. And it’s having a devastating impact on their impressionable young minds. Retroactive studies found that the average age kids first view p**nography is around 11 years old but Jenson concluded from her work and research that the average age is much lower. @DefendYM

Kids are now exposed to extreme adult content at extremely young ages, and getting addicted, along with adults where such addiction is just RAMPANT. I've long suspected this is a MAJOR factor destabilizing our society. What do y'all think?
Last week, our own Kristen Jenson flew to San Francisco to record an interview with Jan Jekielek, senior editor of @EpochTimes, for his show "American Thought Leaders." 🎥 📅 The episode will air in a few months. Stay tuned, and we’ll share it as soon as it’s live!

Victory! The Supreme Court upheld Texas’s age verification law (HB 1181), ruling it constitutional to require porn sites to verify users are 18+. Protecting children from explicit content does not violate free speech. Huge win for child safety! #scotus #endexploitation #freespeech #ageverification #protectkidsonline #SupremeCourt #NCOSE

Adolescents who spend >3 hours/day on social media face 2x the risk of anxiety and depression symptoms, and the average daily use in this age group is 4.8 hours. As @ABCGMA3 highlighted, I'm calling on legislators to act with urgency to make social media safer for our kids.

In May 2023, I outlined recommendations to make social media safer for kids. Yet parents and children are still waiting for change. In my @nytimes op-ed, I issue a renewed call for legislators to take action and also call for a Surgeon General’s warning label on social media. 1/2

.@DavidSacks thinks Meta is "doing everything they can" to stop child sexual abuse material (CSAM) while allowing "see results anyway" for suspected CSAM? Meta leads the industry in top tier ranking for CSAM, sextortion, grooming for abuse, etc. Bad take on the #AllInPodcast.
