The biggest giveaway on China’s J-20 "stealth" fighter is sitting right on its nose.
Those two small front wings called canards are a dead giveaway of an engineering compromise.
True 5th-gen stealth jets (like the F-22 and F-35) never use canards because constantly moving front wings ruin radar deflection and light up on enemy screens.
China had to use canards to make up for weak engines on a heavy airframe.
When the J-20 pulls fancy moves for the camera, its moving canards turn it into a giant radar reflector. Stealth on paper, visible in combat.
GTRE has shelved active prototyping of a 3D thrust-vectoring nozzle for AMCA Mk2’s 120 kN engine, as the IAF hasn't demanded it.
Doctrine explains why: 3D TVC adds weight, maintenance burden, and rear thermal/RCS risk. AMCA prioritizes stealth and BVR lethality, while GTRE redirects TVC studies toward tailless UCAVs.

🚨 #Update: DAC is set to review a ₹75,000-crore ($8.5B) proposal today to build indigenous Next-Gen Destroyers (Project 18) for @indiannavy.
• Displacement: ~13,000 tonnes (vs 7,400T Visakhapatnam-class)
• Propulsion: Hybrid engine model
• Armament: High-density indigenous VLS missile suite
• Timeline: 4–5 years for detailed design under Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

Indian Army’s indigenous Bridge Layer Tank (BLT T-72) in action.
Built by DRDO and HVF Avadi, it deploys a 20-meter MLC-70 scissor bridge in just 3 minutes, allowing T-90 Bhishma and T-72 regiments to cross anti-tank ditches without breaking offensive tempo.
With 150+ in service and 47 more ordered, combat mobility stays unmatched.
The IAF’s three Mi-26 helicopters remain grounded at Chandigarh since 2014 due to engine and spare bottlenecks.
To plug the 20-tonne lift gap beyond the 11-tonne Chinooks, the MoD floated an RFI to damp-lease three Ultra-Heavy-Lift Helicopters.
They will lift 20,000 kg at 5,500 meters with 95% vendor-maintained availability. 🇮🇳
During Exercise INDRA-2026, Indian and Russian troops used frontline drone tactics to clear fortified enemy positions.
The assault featured FPV strike drones, quadcopter swarms, and drones dropping thermite over enemy trenches.
Tracked ground robots and buggy assault teams then advanced under armor fitted with anti-drone cages, giving the Indian Army hands-on experience in modern drone warfare. 🇮🇳🇷🇺
