This is a lot of people online. Lying about results
In 2015 Elizabeth Holmes was worth $4.5 billion. She told CBS she didn't own a TV because she worked every waking hour.
When people questioned her blood tests, she had an answer ready.
In the video below, she says that if your invention gets questioned, "that's a sign you've actually done something transformative."
Her company Theranos claimed it could run hundreds of tests from one drop of blood. Walgreens put it in stores. Investors put in over $700 million. Henry Kissinger sat on her board.
The machines never worked. Most tests were secretly run on regular lab equipment. Patients got wrong results about cancer, HIV and pregnancies.
In 2022 she was convicted of fraud. She is serving more than 11 years in federal prison.
The questions she called a sign of success were the truth the whole time.
Was she a liar from the start, or a believer who couldn't admit she failed?

Sometimes when you just put your head down and work by time you look up you notice that ain’t nobody around you…
Anybody who knows me here know I’m always in the gym.. watching players I train or coach compete. Besides it being fun to support I’m always seeing how I can help them get better.
...THIS PART
Wasn't learning to play
Learning the coaches plays
Mindless _ Energy waste -> running around the court "punking" kids out of their ball _ false hoping the parents
UNTIL
The opponent kids mature -> taught passing _ patience _ skill _ relationships _ MATH....
Unfortunately
still occurring Today and some parents still flocking to those gyms
There was a particular elem/ms team that was running through teams years ago in my city. Because they practiced pressing non stop and had a few athletes.
Fast forward years later. 1 out of those 10ish kids are making an impacting on the varsity level.
I thought about that this morning because so many parents got the wrong people coaching/developing their kids and don’t realize it until it’s too late.

Yep, toss them in a diamond press layup fest young is dumb. They bypass developing 1/2 court offensive skills, patience, timing, playing controlled, cerebral basketball. At some point the young pressing team is forced to play slow and can’t adapt. They get 🧀 cheesed. I have seen this so many times with intercity teams vs suburban teams it’s nearly predictable.
I dislike when people celebrate firings of coaches. Yeah it comes with the territory of fandom but at the end of the day it’s still a very personal matter than impact so many.
The year we broke the national record in the 4x400m if people saw how hard them kids worked that year…. Nothing was by accident.

One thing I’ve noticed about youth sports: If a kid develops and reaches the college/pro level, everyone credits their trainer, their club or their coaches. If someone doesn’t develop, they accuse the trainer, club, or coach for not developing them.
Good coaching & training matters, it’s part of the equation. AND there is something much more critical that every athlete has complete control over.
I’ve seen bad players play for great coaches and trainers, and elite players play for bad ones. (imo)
There is only one stakeholder in this equation that is around the athletes 365 days a year, 24 hrs a day, and that is the athlete themselves. (+family)
If you want to be elite, get in the gym and develop! It’s the ONLY common denominator I’ve seen from elite athletes: they pour into themselves!
