Jobs aren’t AI-proof, people are.
All that matters is your ability to think creatively, move quickly, and act decisively - apply that to whatever you work on. AI can support with the rest.

“The political shoe fits the mental foot” is excellent and illuminating. Very rarely do you see people go against their basal beliefs and nature. Even when they switch sides on an issue it’s to remain consistent with what they actually care about most.
In politics this is ego.
The older you get the more you realize that politics are psychology: the vast majority of people believe what they do as an extension of their ingrained personalities.
They don’t reason from first principles, or adjust policy based on data: they’re woke lefties or tradcons or AI doomers or accelerationists because the political shoe fits the mental foot. Few ever change sides, and if so only after contact with the results of their politics (and usually not even then).
Because to do so wouldn’t be updating an opinion, but changing their entire self, and nobody intentionally casts themselves into that confusing abyss.

I could do this when I was 13/14. Basic steganography - you can do SO much more than this right in your terminal.

People hate effort, earnestness and sincere conviction. People hate being reminded of the thing they're capable of but resist: actually trying.
Agency is the hardest skill to develop because you can activate it at any time, but only if you pay the price of discomfort upfront.

Optimism, kindness and grit are insane life hacks that are frequently overlooked because people think you can only win by hedging your bets or cheating.
I understand why this is being widely mocked, but I also understand the thought process behind it.
It does, objectively sound bizarre that the government pays half a million 16-24yo PIP, when we don’t even have national service or other schemes for those age groups.
Left my tiny dog with my cousin while I was in SF for 6 weeks. Apparently her youngest boy now randomly growls 😂

It doesn’t matter that the Tesla Roadster (in this format) may never reach production. We should celebrate that it exists. This is how we get to flying cars - being brave, taking risks, pushing boundaries.
This is where I appreciate Elon’s ambition.
