14 years ago my husband lost his life to #MND & #FTD (Frontal Temperal Dementia ) There’s lots more awareness of MND but not of a dual diagnosis of MND/FTD and cognitive change, but clinical & research community now more aware of dual diagnosis. @MNDPatients @APPGonMND

It is not only vital that people receive a diagnosis, it is vital that they receive an accurate diagnosis 🩵🧠
It is the first day of Dementia Action Week and this year's theme is 'A dementia diagnosis is vital'. We know that many - maybe most - people with Lewy body dementia do not experience a smooth path to diagnosis. Around half are told they have something else initially. As a micro charity, one of our key goals is to advocate for the importance of getting an accurate diagnosis. An accurate diagnosis means getting appropriate treatment as quickly as possible. It can also bring peace of mind after what sometimes has been a frightening and uncertain period for both the person receiving the diagnosis and their families. #DementiaActionWeek #DAW2024 #Lewybodydementia #ShiningALightOnLewyBodyDementiaSince2006 #Dementia
