Woohoo!!! Congrats, @MaferB92! Awesome achievement & recognition of your talents as a scientist and your continued emergence as a young leader in the #neurorehab field! @wustl_pt @WashUBME @WUSTL_AnesRsrch @WashUONR @ASNRehab

Official PMRF Lab #SfN2022 photo...about a second before we got clobbered by a wave... @GersonMRomero @AveryTwyman: we'll get you here - or, well, DC - next year! @SfNtweets @wustl_pt @WashUBME @WashUPain

well and of course in my Twitter ineptitude, I forgot to tag (is that the word?) Maria! @MaferB92

Great to hang out with @mariannaalperin and @MaferB92! Easily the most ground I’ve covered in a mtg: science, medicine, academics, systemic racism, unions, history, polisci, intersectionality, etc. Missed you Sameer; be well, see you on Zoom! Thanks @lab_meyer for connecting us!!

Huge congrats to @MaferB92 for winning best talk/poster at the @SfNtweets 2022 Satellite Symposium: Neuromodulation for Engaging and Enhancing Spinal Cord Plasticity! So well deserved! Thanks @NCNM4R for the platform and support. @NINDSDiversity @NINDSfunding @WashUBME @wustl_pt

What if #neuromodulation for #SpinalCordInjury met people living with SCI where they're at -- purposeful multimodal rehab? A long road ahead, but we can't lose sight of its importance. Here's @MaferB92's latest and greatest! @NINDSfunding @NINDSDiversity iopscience.iop.org/article/1…

Lest I forget to say, Hans - I extracted a quote of yours from your '06 Progress in Neurobiology review/tribute article to Sir John Eccles to use in my slides. So you were there both in print and in spirit!
We missed you Hans! Hope to see you around soon. best—Monica
It was really a tremendous honor - and a lot of fun - to share the stage with you all! Long live systems neuroscience and spinal physiology!
What a wonderful day at the Neuroscience 2022 Satellite Symposium! Neuromodulation for Engaging and Enhancing Spinal Cord Plasticity.AikoThompson;ReggieEdgerton;BashaBaddan;@GManBreathe;RickSegal;@NCNM4R;@DependentAims;EdmundHollis;basharbadran; Honoring Prof. Jonathan Wolpaw!

I hear I need to up my Twitter game. So...you know...get ready for like 5 tweets and then radio silence. Buckle up, friends. It's going to be a mild ride.

[actual] #neuroscience terms as sports teams. I nominate the "neuronal avalanches" and the "synaptic detonators." Discuss.

False.
Opening Day and start of the #Masters. Perhaps the best sports day of the year.

Super excited that @MaferB92 and I get to spend part of our afternoon having an [in person] discussion with Justice Sotomayor on this historic week for #SCOTUS and the country as a whole!

Great to have @DrJasonCarmel and James McIntosh visit the lab this afternoon and talk science, just like humans used to do at the turn of the century. First out-of-towners in the lab since the Pre-Covidian Era, if I'm not mistaken...

Come for the fun, stay for the science! Looking for curious, inspiring people to fill multiple postdoc, staff sci, & lab mgr spots across our @NINDSfunding @CDMRP & @AHAScience grants sites.wustl.edu/pmrflab/ or DM me. @WashUONR @WUSTL_AnesRsrch @WashUBME @WUSTLdbbs @WashuWups
so...until further notice, should I just use the Mann-Whitney rather than the Kolmogorov-Smirnov for all my nonparametric needs?

looking forward to a time when the end of each daycare covid closure doesn't coincide with a daycare snowstorm closure. womp womp queue up the sad trombones...

..that time in Miami when @MaferB92 & I turned on the e-phys audio amp & found that spinal interneurons in dead rats synchronously amplify distant, subthresh Spanish-lang pirate radio via a prev. undescribed form of 'inductive neuromod' we call Wide Telemetry Facilitation, or wtf

Felt like a real PI today. The whole building’s looked like a scooby-doo ghost town this week bc of a snowstorm. One of @lab_meyer’s students comes into my office at like 4:30 pm today (friday), 3 days in, and asks, “Do you know where the tank of liquid nitrogen is?” (1/2)

“You mean the giant bubbling cauldron we use all the time? Nope - not a clue. Isn’t a PhD all about testing hypotheses? But pro-tip: you should probably keep the gloves on. And maybe the ear muffs, too. You know, just for good measure - EH&S is always watching.” So proud. (2/2)

I would be remiss not to include in this thread the PMRF Lab’s very own electrophys and neuroscience extraordinaires, @MaferB92 and Jeff Gomes, without whom this wouldn’t be possible — or nearly as fun.
Super excited to start up a collab with Aiko Thompson as part of our new @CDMRP #SCIRP Translational Research Award, "Targeted spinal cord plasticity for alleviating #SCI-related neuropathic pain." @wustl_pt @WashUPain @WUSTL_AnesRsrch @NCNM4R @WashUONR @WUSTLmed
