Winds easing tonight but turning wet & windy tomorrow thanks to #StormBoelo. No weather warnings for Wales but winds increasing. Gale force on coasts & hills. Gusts 40-60mph. And turning milder. Sunday drier and sunnier but windy with a few scattered showers. Calmer Sunday night.
#StormAusten is moving east towards Belgium. Highest gusts so far, 84 mph @Jersey_Met with a red wind warning. 74 mph at Aberporth, Ceredigion.
#StormAusten is approaching! Rain spreading north this evening. A spell of heavy rain overnight with stronger winds. Tomorrow more wet and windy weather with gales. Yellow warnings for Wales. Turning drier and brighter during the afternoon but rain slower to clear from the NE.

Unseasonably mild in Cardiff today with sunny intervals but a change on the way. A cold front will bring a spell of rain this evening and overnight. Much cooler and sunnier tomorrow with a few scattered showers. The weekend fine and sunny with colder nights and frost in places!

#OnThisDay 1976: British Rail launched its new ‘HST’ high-speed train service – the fastest diesel trains in the world. Reporter Lucy Mathen jumped on board for a preview, enjoying a cuppa on the way, and arriving four minutes early into Cardiff.

Wales was the coldest part of the UK last night! Swyddffynnon in Ceredigion dropped close to freezing with a ground frost. Cloud spreading from the northwest today. Best of the sunshine in the south and southeast.
