I don’t say this lightly but these people are proper jokes or they think Ugandans are daft.
GSK (GlaxoSmithKline), one of the world’s biggest and most storied pharmaceutical companies, has its largest pharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturing facility on just 55 Hectares (135 acres). It’s located in Wavre, Belgium
The world’s largest pharmaceutical manufacturing plant by acreage is the Pfizer plant in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
It’s on 1,300 acres, is vertically integrated (makes APIs, vaccines etc).
It supplies products to more than 120 Countries.
DEI Pharma is a mere generics manufacturer (or should be), has ZERO market presence-not even in our countries that import more than 85% of their pharmaceutical needs-and struggles to pay salaries to its employees, some of whom earn less than $200 a month. Why would they need 1,000 acres?
What are we smoking as a country?
Tuli kuki?

Government seeks 600 more acres in Wakiso to expand Dei BioPharma to 1,000 acres to meet international standards, Lands Minister Nabakooba says. The facility, founded by Dr Matthias Magoola, currently sits on 400 acres and is expected to manufacture high-cost drugs including sickle cell treatment, potentially cutting prices by over 99%. Magoola says a similar project in Kamuli is 70% complete. 📹Noeline Nabukenya #MonitorUpdates

Traumatic injuries from mostly road traffic accidents account for an increasing number of disability, poverty and deaths in our country.
With limited resources, it’s imperative we master the basics/principles in managing these injuries.
That was the focus of the Orthoplastics
Why do we call it the Basics of Open Fractures?
Sometimes, improving patient care starts with going back to the basics, even when advanced resources aren’t available.
Dr. @DerickKayondo explains why getting the fundamentals right matters.

Boda boda crashes bring injured patients to our hospitals every day. The interns receiving them need to know what to do.
During KATC training, they practise assessing injuries, stabilising fractures and resuscitating patients.
