Having limitations and limited resources is a good thing. You see kids grow up with daddy's money and make nothing of themselves. Then you see kids who were born into dirt and make the most of what they have. Struggle builds character, character is what people latch onto.
The past week, I have been working on a Hogwarts Legacy quest. In this video is a small snippet of a puzzle and some exploration that I have done. There is a lot more to this that isn't shown, it will be fully documented when ready.
Having a good time exploring Hogwarts Legacy. The world feels massive. I thought the combat was going to be boring from the opening, but it has gained a lot of depth and feels good.
I haven't played GOW beta only watched and I don't know how I feel about how dramatic the animations are. The wobbles when sprint ramps up etc. GOW always felt beefy and heavy, this kinda makes them feel like an athletic soldier. Maybe its not bad playing, just initial thoughts.
Exactly one hour Gears of War doodle. Had to cut some corners to make time, but did it (excluding the run through at the end). Would scratch this, but a fun exercise.
Revisiting Doom The Dark Ages so I can play the DLC soon and it is making me want to make a level for it. The level design is just top notch. Enemy composition, arenas, hubs, pacing, scale, etc.
BO2 was the best competitive COD ever. Might be a hot take but I genuinely believe if it branched off as the main competitive COD and was just expanded on, it would be the biggest esports game today.
I don’t understand CFB scoring system for the draft projection. I’m leading in passing yards, TD, breaking records, beating rivals, etc, but my draft projection keeps going down. I went from top 5 then transferred and it keeps going down. Should I throw interceptions and fumble?
If I had the time and money, I would make a friend slop game where you play as aliens that invade Earth in a UFO where you need to abduct humans, perform surgery on them to power your UFO, probe them, and eject them into space.
There are thousands of games released a month these are just the ones you see. If you want to play and see something different, then go browse and don't let marketing pick your game for you. There are plenty out there.
I know Im late to this, but Doom has played a major role in me as a designer and a gamer. I don't think there is a single FPS designer or dev who hasnt been influenced or inspired in some way by Doom over the years. It is a dream to one day work on that IP & I hope it stays.
