designers: be honest. when you open figma now, are you designing or just documenting what you already built?

I know that theres been alot of Figma haters and Figma prayers recently but heres my hot take: designers and PMs who stay figma-only are going to have a hard time. not because figma is bad, but because the work is moving into code and agents.

ok claude duet update: i tried it but haven't really gotten into it 😅 i'm still on grok bot and moving my whole setup over feels like a lot. anyone actually made the switch and are happy with the change?

keeping @figma in sync with the codebase is starting to feel like homework 😅 the codebase is the design now and figma is just where i copy it back to.. is anyone still treating figma as the source of truth?

i dont think the future designer is figma-only anymore.. we're gonna be prototyping in code, talking to agents, shipping real things!! had a convo over the weekend with someone who doesnt want to learn any of it and it made me wonder, whats the better way for designers and engineers to work together rather than bicker and moan about one another?

listening to @drfeifei and Mark Papermaster at @Cloudflare's conference and two words stuck with me: Agency & Accountability as someone who isn't an engineer but builds real things with AI, this hits. AI lets me ship stuff I couldn't have made a year ago. but the speed doesn't take away the responsibility. if I put it out there, I own it. what it does, who it affects, whether it actually works "take responsibility for what you're doing" she says But that's not a reason to be scared of it! the excitement matters too. "it's about opportunities and possibilities" 🎉 fast + responsible isn't a tradeoff. it's the job 😊
