🎄 A little Christmas plea! I have 120 original linocut prints, all hand-printed by me (a real human!) in my York studio. Some designs are down to just 1 or 2. Have a favourite on your Christmas wish list? Let me know, and I can put one aside. michellehughesdesign.com/sho…

Two original Yorkshire landscape linocut prints found new homes last week. 😊 Top: Hutton-le-Hole. Bottom: Farndale towards Blakey Ridge. #YorkshireArt #YorkshireLandscape #NorthYorkMoors

I’m looking forward to talking about my book at the Ilkley Literature Festival this Saturday. 📚 This is my linocut of the iconic Cow and Calf Rocks above Ilkley. #Ilkley #IlkleyMoor #CowAndCalfRocks #Linocut #Linoprint

I’ve hand-coloured the beaks of my blackbird linocut prints with yellow watercolour. Is that cheating?! 🤔💛 What do you think? Would you like one for your wall? #linocut #linoprint #BirdArt #originalprint #britishbirds

Four fabulous linocut prints from today's beginner's linocut workshop. #linocut #linoprinting  #printmaking #York #NorthYorkshire

Inking and printing my blackbird linocut in black oil-based ink. I re-ink the lino block for every print. Next, I’ll be hand-colouring all those little beaks yellow, one print at a time. 💛 #linocut #linoprinting #BirdArt #Blackbird #britishbirds

It’s always lovely to come back from a holiday to glowing reviews of my online courses. Erin joined my How to make a multi-block #linocut print all the way from New Zealand! 🥰 #LinoPrinting #Printmaking #Multiblockprint

On Sunday I’m hoping to go walking in the #NorthYorkMoors. Am I too late for a sea of purple heather? This linocut print was inspired by a favourite walk at the Hole of Horcum. #Linocut #YorkshireArt

Save the date for York Open Studios 2027! I’m delighted and relieved that my YOS application was accepted. Next year will be my 9th year. If you don’t live in York, it’s well worth a long weekend visit. #Linocut #YorkOpenStudios #VisitYork #NorthYorkshire #OpenStudios

An edition of my Gordale Scar linocut has recently flown off to a new home. 💚 #Linocut #YorkshireArt #YorkshireLandscape #Malham #YorkshireDales

Back from a very wet week in #Scotland, staying at a cosy cottage in Port Allpin in #Argyll. While it did scupper taking lots of inspiration photos, we did manage to get out walking each day. It certainly tested my waterproofs!

The finished carved block for my blackbird linocut print. I’ve carved out the inside of the beak so I can hand-colour it yellow afterwards. That bit was rather stressful! Thankfully, I didn’t cut his beak off! #linocut #linoprinting #BirdArt #GardenBirds #Blackbird

Studio selfie. My happy place. 😍 #linocut #linoprinting #BirdArt #GardenBirds #ArtStudio

I find carving lino so calming and meditative. Here I am adding a few flicks to the outlines of the berries on my blackbird linocut. #linocut #linoprinting #BirdArt #GardenBirds #Blackbird
