Hello, this is Blind Lounge.
Blind Lounge’s random matching has been updated to Spaces.
The random matching felt like waiting in an empty room: you couldn’t tell if anyone else was actually there, and you had to wait indefinitely until a match was found. Once matched, you were instantly connected 1:1 with a complete stranger, and the room disappeared as soon as the conversation ended.
Spaces are different. Instead of an invisible waiting queue, you now enter a visible area where you can see who’s currently online as characters. You can tap the screen to move around and choose who you want to approach. If you’d like to talk to someone, send them a chat request. A 1:1 conversation starts only after they accept.
In Spaces, you can use the global chat even without joining a Lounge, so everyone can talk together and help activate the app.
Spaces also highlight the top 10 Lounges by boost. Tap a Lounge to view its details or join it. Each Lounge has its own dedicated space that only members can enter. Lounges built around hobbies or shared interests can use Credit Boosts to get more visibility in Space.
So Spaces aren’t just for 1:1 chats—they’re also a place to meet people from the Pi community who share your interests across many topics.
The Blind rules remain unchanged: profile photos stay hidden until you become friends. If you don’t see a photo, it’s not a bug.
Come into Spaces, walk around, say hello, and approach the people you’d like to talk to.

Pi Desktop version 0.6.4 has been released!
The update makes remote access to SoloHost apps much easier by eliminating the need to configure home routers. Pi Desktop now handles the connection setup, making it simpler for Pioneers to access SoloHost apps, such as local AI agents, running on their computers through Pi Browser on their phones.
The release also provides more protection measures for SoloHost users, checking apps on their access rights before installation and each time they start. These checks help restrict the app’s access to only their own files, not to other files on the computer.

As AI lowers the barrier to building software, reaching users and gaining distribution are becoming increasingly important challenges for developers.
Pi offers an existing distribution network and utility-based ecosystem where developers can connect their applications with more than 60 million Engaged Pioneers, alongside infrastructure for app discovery, user authentication, Pi payments, and other capabilities.
The ecosystem also includes over 300 Mainnet apps, a network of more than 420,000 Nodes, and over 18.1 million fully KYC’d users.

Stablecoins can play an important role in expanding certain utility across the Pi ecosystem, particularly in use cases where predictable price stability is important.
The introduction of stablecoins requires a deliberate, unique approach, and must be aligned with Pi Network’s ecosystem and principles.
- Simply adding a stablecoin does not guarantee that it will naturally complement Pi.
- How the two function alongside each other depends on how stablecoins are integrated into the Pi ecosystem.
This makes the design and initial introduction especially important. Stablecoin functionality should be directed toward circumstances where price stability is needed while preserving the utility of the Pi cryptocurrency across the broader ecosystem.

Pi Network is exploring how stablecoins can support additional utility across the Pi ecosystem while maintaining a distinct, complementary role to Pi.
Read the new blog in the Pi mining app to learn about:
- Pi’s approach to stablecoins
- How stablecoins may help expand participation within the ecosystem
- Why their implementation requires careful design
And how the OUSD partnership can fit into Pi’s broader stablecoin strategy.

Following the successful completion of the Protocol 27 upgrade on Pi Mainnet, Pi Testnet has upgraded to Protocol 28.
Protocol 28 improves how the network handles delays in transaction data and enables developers to upgrade groups of smart contracts at once and change stored data more safely as their applications develop.
All Node operators must upgrade their nodes to Protocol 28 by October 13, 2026, in preparation for the Mainnet Protocol 28 network upgrade on October 16, 2026.

SoloHost updates have been released alongside Pi Desktop version 0.6.3! This improves app discovery, reliability, and developer tools.
Pioneers can more easily discover actively used SoloHost apps. Reliability improvements and developer resources, such as AI agents compatibility, also support the building and troubleshooting of apps.
These updates further support SoloHost’s role in extending the utility of Pi Desktop and Nodes beyond blockchain infrastructure, giving Pioneers more ways to use their computers for self-hosted apps and developers more tools to build and bring apps into SoloHost.
