Saskatchewan is receiving a resource-revenue windfall.
It's spending it all and then some.
Newfoundland and Labrador is managing its windfall the right way by paying down debt and providing tax relief.

Carney’s budget is a debt disaster!
Carney is borrowing more than $60 billion this year.
Carney is NOT balancing the budget. He’s adding $287 billion to the debt by 2031.
Interest on the debt costs taxpayers $1 billion every week.
Carney spending $14 billion overbudget. Gross

The federal debt is going up $2,000 every second.
Carney releases his budget today.
How much more debt will he stick you with?

What’s the spookiest creature this Halloween?
The $1.3 trillion national debt.
The debt is going up $2,000 every second.
The Debt Clock is in Ottawa, where your tax dollars go to die.

Newfoundland and Labrador Finance is using 80 cents of every dollar from windfall revenue to pay back the province’s debt.
The other 20 cents will be used to make life more affordable for Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.
That’s not what's happening in Saskatchewan. Not a dollar is going to pay back debt. Not a dollar is going to tax relief.
Saskatchewan Finance Minister Jim Reiter needs to look at what Newfoundland and Labrador is doing with its resource-revenue windfall and copy that strategy immediately.

🚨🚨New personal record for Carney:
Carney and entourage drop $175,000 on airplane food during one international trip.
Beef tenderloin with demi-glace sauce.
Veal escalope with lemon and capers.
Truffle risotto.
Seabass fillet.
Crème brûlée.
That’s what Carney and his entourage ate on one trip to China, Qatar and Davos.
The bill: $175,248 for airplane food.
That’s his most expensive airplane food trip yet.
"Spend less" lol

Shining a light on big-spending Saskatchewan municipalities.💡💡💡
Saskatoon spends more per person than Regina.
Between 2020 and 2024, Saskatoon increased per-person spending by about four per cent. Regina increased it by 15 per cent.

The federal government paid for more than 50,000 Microsoft subscriptions and licenses last year that nobody used.
These unused subscriptions cost taxpayers millions.
What a waste of money.

Families are struggling with life getting more expensive. The Carney government needs to find ways to provide Canadians with much needed relief.
An easy way to do that is taking the sales tax off kids' essentials. Great piece from my colleague @DevinDrover
“If the government thinks raising kids costs too much, a simpler idea is to stop taxing the things kids need.”

For 20 years, Canada has had Liberal, Conservative and NDP provincial governments, and they've all tried to fix health care the same way. They threw money into the system and hoped something would work. It hasn't.
Alberta wants to try something different. They're looking to better-performing universal health care systems in Europe have much shorter wait times than Canada.
Our team has been to Sweden, Denmark and France to meet officials and tour hospitals. Colin Craig explains the fight between Ottawa and Alberta, and why Europe is the right place to look.

The Advocates' Society's position rests on a petitio principii --they assume a premise that is not granted: namely that judges make decisions on the facts & the law. The question of whether she did in this case is properly in dispute, due to Ms. Sarkonak's excellent journalism.
It has come to my attention that I have been denounced by @Advocates_Soc for criticizing judicial decisions — and yes, individual judges.
Here's the thing. When someone, for example, spends her lawyerly career writing op-eds in favour of migration and calling herself an activist, and then becomes a federal judge, and from that seat allows all sorts of undesirables to remain in Canada on weak grounds, people are free to draw a connection from A to B.
When a judge, for example, spends his lawyer years advocating fiercely for more race-based law, and then later throws out gun charges of black men on his (unsupported) assertion that police were racist during their arrests, people are free to question whether he's really a fair adjudicator.
When a judge, for example, says that a ban on drug trafficking is unconstitutional, and then *applauds* vigilante drug dealers for their self-proclaimed safe supply program — applauds them for supporting the business of organized crime and feeding the addictions of street people — that's beyond the pale. You're worried about democracy being poisoned? Worry about the judge who threw out Parliament's law against selling heroin because she felt it was "common sense" that it was supported by science.
I agree that it's not right to criticize a judge personally for impartially applying the law and coming to an unpopular decision (which they may even privately disagree with). But when their professional history, or their conduct in court, suggests allegiance to a cause that they happen to be ruling softly on, it will get noticed.
Bringing the administration of justice into disrepute is a two-way street, you know.

Life is getting more expensive for families across the country. And Canadians can't afford gas taxes that drives up prices at the pump.
The Canadian Taxpayers Federation delivered a simple message to Parliament's finance committee: make the gas tax cut permanent!

🚨 Hiking taxes is the last thing BC politicians should do
🏔️ Eby might as well climb to the top of the North Shore Mountains, bring a megaphone & yell:
📣 “GO AWAY!!!”
At all of the entrepreneurs, dentists, doctors, professionals & job creators who work in BC
CUT TAXES!

Premier Wab Kinew bragging about being on track to balance the budget next year isn't the full story for taxpayers.
That’s because the government can “balance” the budget while still increasing the debt.
Take last year’s results: The government is highlighting that the deficit decreased to $832 million from $1.6 billion. But the government still increased the debt by about $1.4 billion compared to the year prior.

Manitoba Senator Gigi Osler racks up $61,000 across seven trips abroad.
Osler travelled to France twice, Uzbekistan, Australia, the Philippines and the United States twice.
Elected MPs also often were on the trips as well.
Senators are not elected or accountable. This wasteful spending shows why the government needs to abolish the Senate.
