Today, I had a very fruitful engagement with members of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party in Samburu County where we exchanged ideas and deliberated on matters focused on strengthening our party, deepening unity and advancing the aspirations of the people.

It gave me great pleasure to preside over the Annual Mining Policy Brief and Stakeholder Forum, where I officially launched the Artisanal Mining Committee Manual and the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Guidelines for the Mining Sector.
These two landmark documents reaffirm the Ministry’s commitment to formalising artisanal and small-scale mining, strengthening capacity, promoting safer working conditions, improving access to markets and ensuring that miners are fully integrated into mineral value chains.
We are focused on transforming mining from informal, fragmented and unsustainable practices into a well-governed, inclusive, safe and environmentally responsible industry that delivers lasting benefits to our people and the nation.
By strengthening governance, promoting responsible mining and empowering artisanal and small-scale miners, we are laying a solid foundation for a more competitive and sustainable mining sector.
I am keen on ensuring that mining becomes a powerful engine in creating jobs, accelerating industrialisation, strengthening county economies and improving livelihoods across the country.
