What stage of democracy is this? "The majority of Italian society is against military aid to Ukraine. But we must not listen to society if it is wrong." -- Italian Minister of Defense.

Don't be gaslit on the Serbian elections. Student List has won on an anti-corruption and free speech platform. It is definitely not pro-NATO or anti-Russian. It is mildly pro-EU, but so was the previous largest party. The main explicitly pro-EU party got zero seats.

It's not unusual to prefer using your native language rather than English in international forums Zelensky by contrast is a native Russian speaker who uses an interpreter when meeting with Russians.

‘The relationship has never been stronger’ update This is a classic
El-Sayed: In my Neurology unit, I would have to give that MOCA exam, that cognitive test he's so proud of… The only people you give that test to are people who you worry may have cognitive deficits. By definition, if you’re taking one of those tests, something is wrong.  And you know the doctor who gave it to him was like, I just want to see how smart you are, sir. And he's like, me too. He brags about having taken it. He's like I remembered the rhinoceros. You're like Habibi, everybody remember the rhinoceros. And the funny thing about it is, you know, he's taken it multiple times. So he's not even bragging about the first time he took it. He's like, I took it the 1st time and then I took it the 2nd time. So with Donald Trump, you can't blame him for this, he's just dumb. But for Mike Rogers, can you imagine how small of a human being you have to be to know that he has real deficits and to just nod your head approvingly at the most ridiculous shit that the man proposes?

It’s very much understood. Labor adopted the LNP foreign and defence policy, in its entirety. The only difference being Labor is more focused on delivering US policy in the region and slightly more competent
Albanese: “I don’t think it’s much understood that a precondition of American support was that there be bipartisan support for it in Australia Without Labor’s support, it wouldn’t have happened” "On a range of issues including the South China Sea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Tibet and the treatment of the Uighur minority, Albanese says Labor would implement exactly the same policies as the Morrison government today" Labor Enabled AUKUS – Mick Lawless dingo.news/voice/labor-enabl…

Lula has won a fourth term in spite of Meta, after Brazil’s electoral court had to order platforms to stop throttling his reach while they boosted his Trump-backed opponent. Big Tech tried to rig this but the Brazilian people had the final say ✊

While I was using the Confucius Institute in Wellington, I was literally working in parliament for a political party leader. Not once did anyone at Confucius ask me about my job, about politics, or anything close. We studied Chinese, and sometimes made dumplings.
While I was learning Chinese, we used to love the Confucius Institute because they'd give us free text books so we didn't have to buy them from the university. I remember in my city, the Confucius Institute had native Chinese speaking volunteers who could help with our study, and practice chatting and so on. When it was time for Chinese exams, which are super difficult for native English speakers, they'd do their best to help us go over our class material etc. Absolutely invaluable. Sometimes we could also take classes making dumplings and traditional fans and other arts. It was fun because you could learn new Chinese words and phrases at the same time. And I can tell you this: never once was politics brought up, let alone anything else apart from our study. Seeing that the US has classified Confucius Institutes as a national security risk literally made me laugh out loud. Honestly, what is up with the US and why are they adament on accelerating their own descent so freaking quickly? We've always known that the West, especially the US-led West, was declining, but I could never have guessed it would happen this fast, and it would be completely and utterly at their own hand. The US is scared of shadows, and it's freaking hilarious. 🤣

Shape of things to come. Ironically France will get regime change and the rest of Europe will move quickly to normalise Le Pen. This happens whenever far right parties join EU governments. Paves the way for Marine to become ‘a good friend’ of Australia
When Iran did this France called for regime change

Everyone who dealt with Russia had direct or indirect dealings with the Russian mafia during the Yeltsin years. Oligarchs . domestic and foreign, were beneficiaries of the corrupt privatisation bonanza:Trump was one of many. The mafia provided ‘protection’ for privatised assets
Replying to @mark_slapinski
You may be right but I think it goes deeper. Trump had dealings with the Russian mafia. Trump has no choice now.

ROTHSCHILDS FINALLY TAKE OVER UKRAINE Ukraine's Ministry of Finance has officially signed agreements with the international financial group Rothschild & Co, which will handle preparations for the privatization of Ukrgasbank and Sense Bank. Together with the company FinPoint, the Western financiers will conduct an asset valuation and organize the sale of state-owned share packages to foreign investors. Kiev justifies this process with statements about "reducing the state's share" and "the need to attract foreign investment." Soon all that will remain of the "sovereign state" is the flag and the trident, while all real property will be finally transferred to Western jurisdiction. So sick of this disingenuous bullshit. There is a hierarchy of racism because the government is literally putting antisemitism into a category where it will be treated more seriously than other forms of racism. xitter.cf/robertshrimsley/status…
The most disingenuous left line is "no hierarchy of racism". It's used only about antisemitism and actually mean they want it deprioritised below issues they care about more. Jews are only asking so called "anti-racists" for the same concern they rightly demand for others.

This was the great strength of Obama. A US instigated coup becomes ‘we negotiated an agreement for a power transition in Ukraine’ Trump would say ‘ We put good people in charge who agreed to give us full control over Ukraine’s rare earths. It was all over in a day’
