An interesting character this guy, what a great coach. You listen to him explain football and how he wants the young players to be playing and you're left in no uncertain terms, that he knows what he wants, he demands it be implemented by the players and he doesn't compromise on his principles.

The U17 Qatar World Cup preparations camp has started today here in Kampala. If you can trace him in his spare time, he's always a willing talker and listener, as I'm sure you already discovered that.

@DifferenceOffi3 , yesterday I took time off to have a chat with him coz I hadn't interacted with him for a while due to work commitments from the both of us. Him: "Sir(I don't know why he always insists on addressing me that way😁), I like the atmosphere and positivity around your senior national team(Uganda Cranes) now and how the young players in that team are showing they can play. Also the new players that have come in, how they have helped to lift the vigor and positivity around everything. " "I bet the first training session with the new players motivated the other players, it was different, not so?" Me: "Coach, it was as if you were present, as we both smiled. That's exactly how it unfolded in that first session in Hoima, and coach Put noted so too." Him: "I know Sir, I can relate, you and me are football people, it's easy to envisage certain things in football." "Also Sir, you have a pot of gold in this country of yours(Uganda)", as he folded his fingers and kissed them in appreciation while smiling. "You have so many young players who are talented and can play football, way more talent than in my country Ghana has at youth level. In 5 years from now you will be having players in the top leagues in Europe. I'm happy to be working with many of them and I will do my best to educate them into proper footballers that can thrive in Europe. Me: So what can we do more to have our players break into the 'Big Leagues'?" Him: "Like I said, you have gold in this country, what must change is the mentality. That's what I must do more with the young boys in this country. Besides teaching them how to play football the right way, the mentality of these players, we must change that."
