This is a very fair argument and I do think it's true. If they would have marketed this properly and really helped people to understand what the product was, then I think they would have avoided a lot of these issues. They didn't want to scare away the people using Chrome OS, so naturally they didn't want to sound negative or act like Chrome OS was dying.
But it's pretty clear that Chrome OS was a flawed way to run Android apps and they wanted a better way that was more sustainable and better for making desktop apps. Instead of explaining the vision and why Chrome OS was long-term insufficient, which would have hurt their school business, I'm sure they wanted to have a much more gradual shift.
At the same time, there are plenty of messages they could have given to explain how this is basically a device that is built for basic app usage and basic web usage on a premium device. Maybe they don't want to say it that way because they want to have aspirations for more, and they didn't want people to say what they are saying, which is why not just buy a Chromebook?
This is a darned if you do and darned if you don't situation. Either they say something that's too negative towards Chrome OS users and then the schools stop buying Chromebooks. Or they tell people how these are basic laptops when in reality they want them to be far more in the future and they do want them to run full desktop apps. If they downplay the operating system now and tell us what it is today, then people will always expect it to be that when they want it to be more.
There are no easy answers, but I will say for sure their marketing wasn't great, and that leads to confusion from reviewers and consumers, and that's not on the reviewers.

The Googlebook is awesome... I've used it everyday since it became available. Yesterday I finally got my Lenovo AI Mouse for it and love it. Using Antigravity, I've created 6 apps and a couple Chrome extension. It rocks!!
Apple needs to build a fail safe for apps that don't get optimized for the Duo. That has been the case on Android for years.
With that being saidz Apple is probably intentionally sabatoging their own apps to force developers to kick it into gear. It's going to get better soon

Why do people think it is on Apple? You realise the app publisher has to be the one to redesign the app? The iOS app is not the same as the android once, totally different architecture.

This is false. It's because not every app developer will optimize things. They are supposed to build a way to force apps to resize. It is day 1 though. So I get it. It will for sure get better. But they should have planned for this too
The talk around Googlebooks is frustrating to me. "It's unusable because Gmail has a web app". Uhhh, is the web app fast? Does it work well? "My Outlook app doesn't work well". Yeah. It's a brand new OS and that app is an Android app. Have you tried using... The web? Is it really that hard for people to understand that Googlebooks are similar to Chromebooks? They are built to run some desktop apps, yes. But they are built also around an OS that is very lightweight running on Google Chrome. It's a mixture of an Android device and a Chromebook.
Do I want to see more apps? Yes. But can we stop acting like Googlebooks are unusable? Install a few web apps for regular apps that don't work well. And get to work and enjoy your productivity.
The fact that people are demanding to only do work in an app even though it's exactly the same in the web browser is astonishing to me. I understand some legitimate criticisms. I want to be able to delete multiple things on the desktop at the same time. And we need to be able to bring multiple Chrome OS features over that aren't available yet.
But it's this type of stuff that frustrates me. People that just don't understand the product and who it's for. They create a false perception about the product. Then they criticize Apple because this isn't like their MacBook or their Windows laptop.
A Googlebook is for people who have lightweight needs and they love to use the web or basic apps for doing stuff. And it's meant to give those people a premium experience with premium hardware.
Multiple Chrome profiles are coming soon. This operating system will only get better. But even today it's a good OS for people who just need the basics and love Android.

I know the Samsung fold can use like 3 split windows but in all honesty....that means nothing to me , i cant even find reasons to use the regular 2 split screen every day

The way reviewers were acting, they were acting like Apple forced it to be slow all the time

Well, it does when they intentionally slow down the fingerprint sensor, yes

It depends on what I'm watching for sure. When it's by itself, it tends to look amazing from what I see. A lot of it depends on the lighting, of course.

But are you comparing it to the Z Fold 8 at the same time in person? That's the question. I want to see these two compared in good and bad lighting. That's what I'm curious about.

No portrait orientation multitasking then on the iPhone Duo.
Should be the iPhone Uno...only one way to do things.
New video dropping Friday at 8 AM CT, where I compare the 3 new Amazon tablets with all of the Android competition. I go beyond the "Nanonite" display to consider how these tablets compare with other Android alternatives. Check out the video when you get a chance!

Went back to the Fold 8 Ultra. Loved the better cameras. Loved having a zoom ND a 200 MP main camera. Loved how it hooked up to my gaming controller. Now going back again to the Fold 8 for a change

This one feels timely with iPhone Duo reviews going live. There are hiccups with Duo, and they will be annoying for a bit. Apple has built phones for many years, yet there are still day one issues - but that doesn't mean things won't get cleaned up. Same goes for Googlebook.
From Apple's M1 Mac transition to the first Pixel phone, major platform leaps take time. Here is why Googlebook's solid foundation deserves patience. chromeunboxed.com/googlebook…

If you are looking for a case for you Z Fold 8, this is a great case from @thinborne . Which means they probably have great cases for the iPhone Duo too!
