RESOLVED. If I believe that God has spoken with clarity and finality in his word, I should act like it in my doctrine and in my practice.
In short, I should reflect my confidence in the God who has spoken in every area of my life.
“Psalm 15 isn’t about Jesus’ law-keeping but God’s demand that believers refrain from evil”
False dichotomies in theology are bad actually.
I don’t think we can (or should) say it “isn’t about Christ.”
All scripture is about him.
It also calls us to a holy calling.
Why is everyone arguing about the Marrow men again?
Is there anything new regarding that controversy, or its application for today?
Or is this just the same dumb argument that we apparently have to have every time someone’s bored?
It’s always interesting how, if you post as a Christian father about having standards for a perspective son-in-law, the assumption from many is that she’s out sleeping her way through the phone book
Large percentage believe virtue is dead.
Talk about black pilling, sheesh
What’s the clearest explanation for the young men voting demographic shift?
It’s not immigration,
it’s not an aged out of the demographic.
It’s not a sudden change in education.
So what explains this,
just a weird vibes shift?
This got a fair bit more attention than my little account normally does
It’s worth pointing out that I do have other criteria for a man who wants to marry my daughter.
This was prompted by that loudmouthed Brit who’s apparently doing what I described
My two cents,
You can not vote because you hate all the candidates.
But let’s not pretend it’s teaching anyone a lesson, because it’s not.
Next time it’ll be a similar situation,
and the time after that.
So abstain if you want, but be honest about where that’s gonna get us.
As a father with 20 &16 year old daughters.

Constantly shifting theology-🚩

That’s gonna be a no from me dog
What you win them with, you win them to
That proverb remains unbeaten when it comes to political or ideological movements.
Be careful what you build, else it turn and tear you to bits as well.
Lots of applications these days.
The way you treat Samuel Sey vs the way you treat Calvin Robinson shows your rank hypocrisy.
Oh? You thought I was talking about that other group, the one you consider your enemies.
Well if the shoe fits,
This past Sunday at Rosedale church I began a study on the book of Habakkuk.
The questions the prophet asks are very applicable in our own day.

The irony here is that Wilson has very specifically cultivated an audience based upon: what outrageous thing will Doug say next?
One could never imagine the men influenced by Joel Beeke treating him in this manner.
Sow a wind, reap a whirlwind
"I'm not listening to you because you're fat." Doug Wilson: what a dumb ad hominem. Honor your elders. #Waterbreak #DougWilson
The irony of newly minted Anglicans or Presbyterians criticizing the entire Baptist tradition because “many today don’t practice it properly” will never not be funny to me.
The young Christian men of today have a 🔥 in them that I really appreciate.
Far too much lukewarm-ness in the church.
But that fire needs to be tempered by wisdom, else it may end up in the same place as Rehoboam, burning it all down for vibes.
Tell me you’ve never even darkened the door of a particular Baptist church without telling me.

Another thought: I'm all for theological retrieval (obviously) but only insofar as it sends us back to the Bible. I want to hear more chapter-and-verse and biblical-theological development in these conversations. Not just a systematic conclusion in search of a biblical argument.
As is common in far too many of these “conversion” stories, they grew up baptist, and just assumed it’s all the same as their squishy Eva church.
And so they leave, proclaiming the need for better, more historical, worship,
not even understanding their own ignorance.
“A Word centered, dialogical approach to worship that includes an abundance of Scripture, creeds, and a confession of sin began to seem to me to be essential rather than merely desirable.”
Great respect for Dr Carter but this ⬆️ is a normal Sunday at @gracebaptist. He does not mention 1689 Federalism at all. I hope his future articles will engage it.
Btw. I don’t agree with the conclusion.
And I think there’s a bunch of things this take just simply ignores.
But you can’t critique what you don’t understand.
Far too many from my generation refuse to listen and understand the reasons for the young right wing disillusionment.
