The parties have 30 days to respond before the offer expires. ​Simultaneously, a federal lawsuit was filed against Cedartown Police Officer Trenton Garner in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia in Rome. ​Background on the Shooting ​Incident Location & Context: The shooting occurred in August 2026 inside a pasture along Grady Road in Polk County.
