was recently listening to a @spotify DJ mix and a song came on that was blatant ai garbage. i went to check the plays, and it had over 12 million... the guy behind all this slop "Mike Mana", has over 2 million monthly listeners and multiple songs with over 10M plays. he's probably made over 6+ figures and all it took him was the click of a button and a $10 subscription ai should NEVER and I mean NEVER touch music. it’s one of the few things where knowing a human made it is part of why it means something. imagine being an artist, spending years working on your sound and craft, just to have the platform you release on feed your potential listeners generated slop. @spotify needs to do something, and i wish more people with a voice in music would push back. i don’t want this garbage labeled and served to me anyway. i don’t think it belongs on streaming services at all. the human part is the whole fkn reason i care. and what happens if we get to the point where we can no longer tell the difference ai or human made music? what happens then??
