Going second truly needs a change in this game.
Looking forward to what @playriftbound figures out for us because right now it just feels awful.
This is a bit of a messy read, but if this is an accurate retelling of what happened there needs to be some serious investigation done on who is being allowed to judge events.
On a side note, this is why I don’t recommend people check live best of standings anymore.
Riftbound Melbourne Showdown
Unfortunately I did not win the best of poppy in the showdown even tho I was the best of poppy on the day and they took it away from me.
Story time.
Going into day 2 of the showdown in Melbourne I was 2nd in the hunt for the best of poppy I went and found most of the poppy’s that where in contention and wished them best of luck.
When the day finished I checked the results and I was on top and went and celebrated with my friends.
Last game of the day I played against the other poppy ( let’s say poppy 2)that was in contention and next to me was the another poppy ( let’s say poppy 3)as well that was in contention. I won 2-0 so I’m pretty much on top.
The other ( poppy 3) player was versing a nasus which he was in contention for the best of Nasus. After we finished all 4 of us we where kinda chatting along and watching the game while the 2 where playing( nasus vs poppy)The Nasus player asked the poppy(3) “are you in contention” which she stated I don’t think so cause this guy won(me)and he is above me.
I replied to Poppy(3) saying actually you were above me before this game started I’m second.
After their game 2 ( 1-1) the nasus player asked in general hey has the other nasus won which I said “ I think he lost “.
They finished their game and the result was a draw. After the game I said to all the poppy’s good efforts it was a tight race. And left the table
The poppy(3)that drew to the Nasus started crying and complaining to the judges that the Nasus slow played on purpose so he can win the best off. ( meanwhile they draw so both didint get it).After that didint work she stated that I convinced the Nasus to try harder and play and win so poppy(3) doesn’t get the best off poppy.
After a while they called the Nasus player up on where the judges where sitting and asked him if he knew me which he stated “ no “. After a while the same head judge came and grabbed me and stated that what I did was wrong and they will give me a game loss and the poppy(3)a game win.
After more back and forth another stuff member came ( was wearing purple shirt saying staff ) and told me that after talking to the head judges and all the parties they will give me a game loss and the Nasus a game loss too.
Ps: I was not gonna make a big tweet about it until I heard the same person that “ won “ the best off poppy - poppy(3)saying to her friends “ im happy that I won it and the other guy is malding”
Ps2: The same poppy tried to convince a riven player in round 7 to concede which he refused.
PS3: The same poppy player was friends with a lot of judges and head judges and they were celebrating when she won her round 8 matchup against a LILLIA.
PS4: During my last mirror matchup I had consistently a judge sitting watching our game and also I had a judge come and check my sideboard and not check the opponent’s sideboard poppy(2).( if I’m not mistaken that judge was friends with the Poppy(3)as well )
Ps5: The Poppy(2) that I defeated towards the end asked the head judges “ I get that you gave him a game loss but why did you give the Nasus a game loss too ?” And the same head judge replied “it’s done now and you can email UVS if you have a complaint but i have been judge for 10 years and nothing happens”
Anyways just wanted to share that information because we can’t have competitive players and judges being good friends makes everything so tricky and unfair. I never refused saying to the nasus player “ I think the other nasus lost”.
My ADHD is so bad man.
Like I can't even make myself a dentist appointment because I have to do the dishes- organize my cards- wait no go on Piltover Archive- wait I need to buy a card for that deck- wait I need to organize my cards- oh I should buy a shelf

Misplayed g1 because I did not play around Skysplitter (didn’t know this was played in Akali). Opp is tapped out with Irelia and Akali equipped with Long Sword at right BF. I have Undertitan and a bunch of guys in base. I am at 6 points. I conquer left BF with recruit and Reksai trigger whiff, play Undertitan and send everything to right BF (Opponent has hidden block. Plays a second block from hand. Is now tapped out. I play blood rush repeated and he asks targets. I assume it doesn’t matter as he is tapped out, choose my two recruits. He plays Skysplitter for free because of Irelia being at 13 might. I am 1 might short of conquering, he has dude in base and is at 6 points so he just shuriken flops for GG. Will never not play around Skysplitter again. Opponent was a very good player and he went on to top 8 the event.
Round 5: Azir

Both games close but again Imperial Decree broken. And Vanguard Armory on Trifarian Warcamp also broken.
Round 6: LeBlanc

Windswept game unwinnable
Opened the nuts g3, Undertitan did work

Day 2:
Round 7: Kennen (vs Will P)
1-2
G1 lost dice roll and lost the Zauns game due to some really unlucky Rek’sai triggers and not playing my best. G2 Candlelit game I opened well and snowballed off of Falling Stars and keeping his trash empty with Forge of the Future. G3 very close game on Trifarian War Camp game. I hit vanguard armory early and start making tons of dudes. We go to time so I need to make a hold. I hold with 28+ might. He manages to crack it because he has Rites as his last card in hand and had enough guys on board + Tornado Warrior Fizz Flash and move 2 guys back. I can’t recover and he wins.
Round 8: Fiora
2-0
Hit 2 Culls and 2 Falling Stars both games kept his board clear, Rengars kept getting blown up.
Final standing: 18th
Bubbled out with .2% breakers.
Attempted to play in the 5k but it went from 5 to 6 rounds and I would miss my flight. My only complaint about CCS is that it seems to be a common communication issue where we are told tournaments are a certain amount of rounds then they change. We should always know how many rounds a tournament is before it begins.
All in all, had a great time this weekend sending off Set 4 first timing Rek’Sai. Locked my spot in for the 50k and made my money back. Deck list below if you want to steal a Skirmish win real quick I think this deck is busted a f.

Story time.
I have been contemplating posting about this and have finally decided to due to the rising popularity of collusion and bribing I’ve read about at LA for best of’s. With the RC coming up, this will surely get much, much worse. I have some information I’d like to make public about collusion for the Best of Rumble.
This will be a long one, so buckle up.
I met a very cool kid, age 14 at the pre-RQ on Friday. His gamer name was Hashee. We had a good match but I ended up winning. Said hi to his Dad and told him he has a great, smart kid and he reminded me of my son. He told me he would be going for Best of Rumble in the main event, so I told him best of luck and hope he gets it.
He kept popping up and telling me how he was doing, he was killing it all day beating some very good players. Towards the end of day 1, the second to last round (round 7), I found out he beat my friend and fellow @TCG_Triad sponsored player and went over to tell him how proud I was because my friend is a very good player and won Best of Draven at Hartford.
Hashee was very excited because he was in the lead for best of, contending with a player named Maxx C, and if he won his next match not only was he locked for day 2, but he also would win best of Rumble. I wished him the best of luck in his next round.
During my last round, I was in the middle of a very intense win-and-in match vs Kennen and he came by and told me he lost. I unfortunately wasn’t able to really talk, so I had to go talk to him after the match. After the match, I found him and his Dad and was told that Maxx C 2-0’d a Master Yi named ChineseStud.
But this is not what actually happened, as his Dad watched the end of Maxx C’s match. He witnessed Maxx C lose the match 0-2 versus ChineseStud. Both players got up and walked to the side and looked at their phones for a while, having a discussion out of earshot. Then Maxx C reported the win 2-0.
I am unsure what the agreement was, but concessions / intentional draws are supposed to happen before play. This was clearly collusion. They waited to see if Hashee lost before making their deal.
An upsetting part of this is that Hashee’s Dad pleaded this case to the judges/staff and nothing was done initially when he brought it to their attention. I just heard now that he was DQ’d from it. I just checked standings and it doesn’t look like Hashee was 2nd anyway, but it might have been different before day 2? Unsure of that. But the principle is what I am mainly going on about here: Best of Rumble was essentially stolen away from either a 14 year old kid who worked so hard to win this best of and make a name for himself in the Riftbound community, or a different honest player. I am not sure how standings work for in a situation like this
This is heartbreaking to me because as a father if this happened to my son I’m pretty sure I would quickly become the first permanently banned Riftbound player.
Be honorable. Earn your best of. This is not the way.
