It’s so odd this election had the same machines the same poll workers the same rules and yet not one republican is saying it’s fixed. I wonder what happened.

When @fordnation reduces an interactive and immersive science experience that we have enjoyed at the full size OSC for 55 years to a 15 minute distraction from mall shopping, it clearly identifies that education of Ontario children is not a priority

Ontario Place is Ford's 407. How did we end up with one of the worst deals in provincial history?
It is being given away to an Austrian spa company for 95 years.
Did Therme get preferential treatment? @OntarioNDP is asking the Integrity Commissioner to investigate.

Ontario Place was built in an era when Conservative government sbelieved that investments in public spaces for the enjoyment of people was fundamental to a good society.
Doug Ford trashed one of Ontario's defining public spaces to build his buddies a fucking spa.

The corrupt Doug Ford government keeps wasting our money. Now, up to a $billion to campaign on getting beer into gas stations a few months early. There are real priorities that need investment including the Science Centre, our schools, transit and healthcare - to name just a few.

Let’s work now to replace Doug Ford’s government. He pretends to be reasonable, but behaves like a bully-and doesn’t honor the deals he signs. He runs on “buck a beer” populism while his friends get rich. He wastes tax dollars while destroying the things we value. He’s gotta go.

Under Doug Ford:
> Seniors died from neglect in long term care
> Ontario Place was neglected and left to rot
> Ontario Science Centre was neglected and became unsafe
> Education and Healthcare systems are falling apart from neglect

People like me didn’t have equal rights until the Charter. Within my lifetime. So, I am vigilant about those rights.
What Pierre Poilievre said this week about minority rights, the notwithstanding clause and the Charter is chilling.

Pale Blue Dot is a photo of Earth that was taken by the Voyager 1 space probe in 1990 from a distance of about 6 billion kilometers (3.7 billion miles) as it was leaving our solar system. This is what Carl Sagan said about the photo:
"Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it, everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor, and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every 'superstar,' every 'supreme leader,' every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there — on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand. It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.”
