Have you done the consultation on PAs/AAs? It must be done by tomorrow March 30th--really important that everyone gives their views.consultations.dhsc.gov.uk/67…

European GPs certainly don't think physician associates should see unselected patients!uemo.eu/uemo-urges-governmen…

What nonsense, Charlie Massey! He says yet again '' Physician associates have worked in the NHS for over 20 years' but he knows very well that there were only a handful 20 years ago.youtube.com/watch?v=q1TmKRRO…

No, Wes Streeting! More private sector involvement is absolutely NOT the way to solve NHS problems. Publicly funded and publicly provided is the way to go.

No, Wes, we don't need more private-sector involvement in the NHS. It isn't helpful, it's parasitic! morningstaronline.co.uk/arti…

A job advert for a PA working basically as a GP being first contact for undifferentiated, undiagnosed patients. They’ve specified **NO previous primary care experience required** 🚩 Let’s be v clear. GPs are CONSULTANTS in Primary care - completing foundation & specialist postgraduate training with rigorous exams throughout. It’s like advertising a job for a cardiology consultant for someone without a medical degree & NO cardiology experience?! Has common sense left the building?!
Your taxes are being misused to hire Non-Doctors, even though fully qualified doctors are Unemployed. ‘ GP kit bag and all kit provided ‘ (except stethoscope) If I had to highlight the red flags on this ad the whole thing would be highlighted. Have a read @DrNeenaJha

This is one of the main reasons why “Israelis” are no longer allowed to give interviews immediately after their release to live TV. They don’t want you to know the truth.

Why not fund actual GPs instead of all those 'other roles? Much more efficient and cheaper

I ask you one question sir When the NHS is completely run purely with non-doctor roles acting as doctors, you and your loved ones will be using the NHS right?

Today’s PA debate: When @Paulscriven stopped talking nonsense about ‘toxic debate’, he actually made a valid point. He stated that PAs should be assessed on their rate of never events compared to other staff. Luckily for him I did that almost a year ago, see below. ☠️ ☠️ ☠️
⚠️This is huge. There have been 12 Never Events linked to PAs in Scotland. Scotland has *143* PAs The NHS had 407 NEs (likely mostly doctors) in a year. The UK has 376,000 docs If PA NE ratio was extrapolated to doctors that’d be 31,552 Never Events What’s coming is scary ☠️

1900 doctors filled out your tedious consultation and you have ignored legitimate concerns. By opening the doors to “local scope” you are inviting a Wild West approach to medicine. Stop putting patients in danger, implement the "BMA safe scope for MAPs" document today.
Today, we’ve published a report on the outcome of our public consultation on the proposed rules, standards and guidance that we’ll use to implement the regulation of physician associates (PAs) and anaesthesia associates (AAs). The report: - details the key changes we have made as a result of the feedback received - provides a comprehensive breakdown of all responses - addresses a range of broader issues raised during the consultation. We’ve also shared our findings with relevant bodies across the system to encourage them to act on feedback that relates to their areas of responsibility. We’re grateful to the over 3,000 individuals, including doctors, patients, the public, PAs and AAs and organisations from across the four countries of the UK who shared their views. We carefully considered all feedback, and this will help to make sure that our approach to regulation supports patient safety. The final rules, standards and guidance will be approved by our Council before regulation begins. Read the full report on our website gmc-uk.org/about/get-involve…

Hi @doctor_oxford luckily you didn’t need to get to day 100 of asking But A) is this data even true and how much was discarded B) it’s wild that PA ‘registration’ is still going ahead with its outcomes C) Massey and Melville need to resign
