Look for Raheem Morris to find a number of ways to put Falcons QB Michael Penix under constant pressure on Sunday. Blitzes, confusing looks, extra guys up on the line, stunts. His arm is big, but his success depends on a clean pocket and time to throw. He has generally been the worst QB in the NFL under pressure this season, with both a negative EPA and a completion rate that dips down to nearly 5% at times when put under duress. He’s either very good or really bad depending on what kind of rush he’s facing. This would be a great week for the Niners’ defensive line and LBs to have another big performance.

People who use words like “always” and “never” in evaluating sports, especially when it comes to evaluating the potential achievements of other people, live in a world of absolutes. People who have hard opinions based on absolutes that don’t exist in reality are generally not wise and usually not trustworthy. And their opinions, created in that black and white fantasy, are often worthless, in addition to being baseless. So, congratulations on finding your identity, Rod.
Roddy White says Kyle Shanahan will NEVER win a Super Bowl White goes on to say Kyle is a great offensive mind, but in tough situations, his over aggressive play calls always gets him in trouble 🎥: @UpAndAdamsShow | @heykayadams

I don’t believe in trap games, especially with the 49ers, but if I did, the trap would be LV coming out of the bye, not this Sunday. The Niners got a taste of what happens when they take the foot off the gas a few days ago. That made an impression. I don’t see them candy-caning this road game in Atlanta. They will be locked in and ready to put the boot to the Falcons for a full 4 quarters. Shanahan needs to dial it up, not dial it back, and I think he will.

Being ready to kick Eddy Pineiro to the curb this week but being okay with Cowing still fielding punts is a strange mindset. I’ve seen this mindset today. Pineiro needs to figure out what the problem is with his XPs and longer kicks, and fix it now. I agree. If he can’t, his seat is hot. Can’t have those misses. But the return mistakes are the greater potential for swinging a game into a very bad place. I don’t want to hold my breath on FG tries. But even more, I don’t want to have a heart attack every time I see Cowing looking skyward at the 5. They need to fix the punt return issue before dumping the place kicker. Get rid of the risk of giving up 7 before melting down about the missed 1. I’m going to give Eddy this week and the bye to recenter before I’m even considering joining the mob to call up Brandon McManus.

Intelligent way to handle this event and to address the underlying issue. Props to Saleh. ⭐️⭐️
Wow. Much respect to #Titans HC Robert Saleh for explaining the DT Jordan Elliott gun situation. “My message to 31 other teams: If you need a hell of a run-stopping D-tackle that can help on a playoff run, give me a call. I'll tell you everything you need to know about him. He’s a good man. Had a terrible lapse in judgment. I recognize it as a call for help. Not a criminal act.” Watch this full answer:

Damn, this is terrible. Those can be difficult recoveries. Hoping he gets through it as soon as possible and can come back 100%. Healing vibes up, 17. 🙏🏽⭐️⭐️⭐️
#Commanders WR Terry McLaurin has suffered a torn patellar tendon and is done for the season, the MRI revealed. A brutal injury and a long road back.

Imagine claiming the 49ers haven’t beaten any good teams and then using your own team as an example of one of those teams. Talk about a self-own. 😂
49ers are 6-0, but their opponents are 12-22-1 (.357)—the NFL’s third-easiest schedule by opponent win %. Only Denver has a winning record. Three wins came by 6 points or fewer. Credit the wins, but let’s stop acting like this team has run through a gauntlet

The people getting lightheaded and dizzy over hits by Malik Mustapha and Fred Warner would end up in the ICU on a respirator if they watched old tape of Ronnie Lott. Some of y’all aren’t cut out for actual NFL football.

A first grader can understand it by now. And yet…
I thought I had seen him bobble the ball and not actually have possession so I was ok with the call but now that im looking at this, HE LOST POSSESSION WHEN HE HIT THE GROUND What's the difference about this play and the TD in the Giants game when he fumbled crossing the line?

lol. Why would they put out a press release to tell people they have no comment about something no one knew about in the first place? 🥴 Heads up, Titans: you can just release a guy without a story. Nobody cares. You’re 1-5. … But now I’m interested in what Jordan did.
#Titans are releasing DT Jordan Elliott. Statement from the team: On Thursday, October 15, there was an incident at our team facility involving Jordan Elliott. Following our review of the incident, we have made the decision to release Elliott from our roster. We will have no further comment on the matter.

This is hilarious. Purdy ain’t a kid anymore. Leadership. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Kyle Shanahan couldn’t decide on a play to call and Brock Purdy got tired of waiting 💀 “HEY KYLE!”

Here.
The @NFL should fine Fred Warner and other 49ers for their uncalled helmet to helmet.

The 49ers trade targets heading toward the deadline appear to be narrowed now to a quality edge rusher and a wideout. The accelerated development of Gracen Halton, combined with the very good play from Sebastian Valdez and the veteran leadership of Osa Odighizowa have clearly lessened the need to make a splash trade at DT. A powerful edge may still be a priority, given the overall health of the D-line. Williams and White have both been very good, but another body is probably needed. WR help remains a pressing need, with many of the existing injuries to key receivers still very much in the grey area. The exceptional safety play of late may have cooled the team’s earlier plans at trading for help there.

Eddy needs to adjust whatever he’s doing to get over the mental tightness on the PATs. But he’s not going anywhere. The guy is still one of the best PKs in the league. Kickers having a short game streak of weirdness is normal. There’s no need to overreact.
Kyle Shanahan on if there’s any concern with Eddy Piñeiro after another missed PAT tonight: “Yeah. He’s got to make them.”

Two tough breaks for Siran. The ball goes wonky and hits his leg on a punt return a few weeks ago, now he draws a flag for interference on a great punt coverage hit. Neither was his fault. On this play, Luke McCaffrey threw a fast fair catch signal almost the moment the punt was coming off Waitman’s foot, so there’s no way Siran Neal could have seen it. McCaffrey induced an interference call. Accident or intentional? I think Luke knew exactly what he was doing. Those McCaffreys are devious.
I never saw the fair catch until watching the replay on the broadcast so I don’t know how he possibly is supposed to see that. Also, I know what he is sayin’. 😂

This is a VERY good sign. They are holding themselves to a very strict standard now. This is what you want to see. Winning alone isn’t enough for them. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I just finished cutting up the 49ers' presser, and one thing I came away with is how unhappy the 49ers' players sounded regarding their performance tonight.

I’m convinced the 49ers will end up making a trade for a WR. It’s not going to help them for the next month, because it’s unlikely to happen until after the bye. But it’s coming. If Deebo and Robinson can be available in next 3-4 weeks, and Kirk can be involved now, a new wideout gives them some much needed support, especially if Evans needs to sit out in stretches. And it gives them the option of redshirting Stribling if he needs the rest of the season to heal. I have no idea who it will be, but someone is headed to SF soon.
