White guy named Steve (who’s also a MOMA film curator) supporting the imprisonment of a world-renowned Iranian filmmaker for making art
What is there even left to say lmao
UPDATE: keeping up the post for posterity, but want to be fair to the OP, who said they're joking. There are unfortunately plenty of people genuinely pushing this view but don't want to paint with a broad brush. My apologies.

Can always count on a @NIACouncil member to put some IRGC AI slop on my timeline.
Would've been a savvy diplomatic move if Macron's govt had slaughtered thousands of protestors over the past few days

Got my hands on an IRGC instructor training package for the IRGC/Basij terrorist apparatus which contains 2,521 files, including 266 presentations, 122 PDFs, 207 Word documents and 342 videos.
The material covers weapons, sniping/counter-sniping, ambushes, guerrilla and counter-guerrilla warfare, night combat, explosives and booby traps. Alongside that: psychological operations, urban patrols, checkpoints and dedicated urban unrest-control courses:
The 43-slide “Pacification” presentation lists “shooting by skilled marksmen” and “use of firepower” among the measures commanders may employ to control unrest. That’s slide 24, in the unrest-control course.
Same presentation classifies post-election crowds as “abnormal.” A companion deck lists wage disputes, unemployment, rising living costs and political grievances as causes of unrest.
A separate 61-slide presentation, attributed to an IRGC security unit, covers urban unrest operations and operational-control responsibilities involving the police and IRGC.
The Basij urban-patrol course details training qualifications for patrol personnel and leaders, mission orders, judicial-officer credentials, compensation insurance and an office providing legal support for Basij members facing problems during their missions. (!)
Combat training, protest suppression, ideological conditioning and the administrative machinery supporting the personnel carrying it out.

Map highlighting clashes and security incidents in southeastern Iran (October 1–2), since the start of this month, there have been 6 confirmed incidents in Sistan and Baluchestan.
This marks a significant increase in attacks in the highly volatile region. Discrepancies remain high between official IRGC figures and independent claims. The incidents and available casualty figures are mapped below.

Sentenced to be lashed 74 times because she sang in a desert; without any audience.
Anybody who conflates defending the sovereignty of Iran with supporting this inhumane, psychotic cabal of deviants called the Islamic Republic doesn’t deserve to be called a leftist.

This is not a drill, we now have East Timor on our side.
I repeat, we now have East Timor on our side.
The Islamic Republic’s nefarious regional ambitions and decades of exporting instability were put front and center at the United Nations.
Timor-Leste President and Nobel Peace Prize laureate José Ramos-Horta delivered a devastating assessment of the Islamic Republic’s regional policy: “We are aware of the mad approach of Iran’s leaders to achieve regional dominance.”
He accused the Islamic Republic of fueling religious extremism to destabilize neighboring states and condemned its attacks against neighboring countries and civilian infrastructure.
The significance goes beyond one speech.
For decades, the Islamic Republic built its regional strategy around extending its influence beyond Iran through the IRGC, armed groups and political networks across Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and the Palestinian territories.
Then this year came direct Iranian missile and drone attacks across the region, including against Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman.
Countries far beyond the immediate conflict are increasingly confronting the consequences of a regional strategy built around armed proxies, missiles, drones and the pursuit of influence across other states.
The Islamic Republic calls it “resistance.” Its neighbors have spent decades living with the instability it produces.
This new 10k number is clearly not referencing January, what is he talking about here? Not a single one of us in the opposition have claimed that 10k have been killed in the past few weeks. In what protests?
He's making a laughingstock out of the Iranian cause
