Does checking what’s in the stomach before feeding help babies safely get to full feeds quicker? neoGASTRIC is investigating this & will be the largest neonatal RCT recruiting over 7000 babies in the UK & Australia @EFCNIwecare @Oxford_NDPH @ccroehr

Collaborative work from the UK using @BPSUtweet reporting neonatal SARS-CoV-2 infection over the first 2 years of the pandemic by viral variant - @DrDonSharkey @HMactier @AleMor_90 @ShamezLadhani @Marianfknight and collaborators from all UK hospital trusts

As we previously reported in thelancet.com/journals/lanch…, inpatient care for babies with SARS-CoV-2 was uncommon and short-term outcomes were generally good. Severe neonatal disease was rare, but was seen more when the delta variant was predominant

Delighted to announce I’ve been promoted to full professor @UniMelbMDHS!
In related news I’m now an evil criminal mastermind playing a sinister game of shadows, hellbent on world domination.
So basically I’m 50% clinical, 50% research & 100% diabolical.
