The opacity of academic prose arises from the epistemological imperative to operationalize disciplinary jargon, facilitating intra-specialized discourse while obfuscating heterogenous interpretive accessibility and perpetuating a recursive dialectic of erudition and exclusion.
Why is academic writing so awful?

A wonderful project, and so badly needed. This is what I call “restorative solitude” and since learning to prioritise time for it, life is so much easier & more enjoyable

Fascinating #research on how #Autistic people use time alone for #wellbeing… here’s a video I took of my own alone time today (a morning nature walk which was essential preparation for an afternoon shift in a customer facing role). #solitude

This #hedgerow was planted 8 years ago. It is now an amazing habitat for bird nesting & provides food & shelter for invertebrates too. With hedgerows, bigger is better, more shelter, more food, more opportunities for wildlife. No flailing was involved in creating this hedge!
