OUT NOW! Factors affecting community-wide eDNA biodiversity assessments of subterranean fauna in groundwater doi.org/10.1111/1755-0998.13… @m_vanderheyde @Curtin_TrEnD @DrMGuzik @DNArthropods @UofA_SET
Blind cave eel earrings for the festive season! Thank you @brock_hedges !
Using a passive eDNA sampling approach - filter membranes submerged in groundwater - we were able to detect subterranean fauna 🦐

Massive thanks to #BioSystematics2023 and @Pensoft for the Best Student Speed Talk award! It was an enlightening three days of interesting talks and insights into what #taxonomy research is being undertaken around Australia and New Zealand. Can't wait for the next conference.
☺️ Honoured to join this year's joint #conference of the Australian #Biological Resources Study @DCCEEW, @ASBS_botany, @SASBiologists & @ausmycsoc to recognise the #scientific work of these three bright young #scientists!🙌

The #Biosystematics2023 conference in Canberra just ended. This was my first full in-person conference since 2019. My thoughts:
1. In-person interactions are still the best 😉
2. Conference fatigue is still a thing 😵💫
3. This online space is (almost) dead ☹️
Bye! – at Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

Yesterday was the launch of the latest volume of Australian Longhorn Beetles (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) at the #Biosystematics2023!
Two of the book's co-authors, Adam Slipinski & Mengjie Jin, were there, and entomology fan @CSIRO CEO Doug Hilton launched the book for us.
