Our South Fayette community came together today for Steps with Purpose – An Out of the Darkness Suicide & Mental Health Awareness Walk, hosted by the SFHS Work2BeWell Club and the AHN Chill Project.
From the one-mile walk led by our Little Green Machine marching band to bracelet-making, art activities, the Remembrance Wall, and free Kona Ice, the afternoon brought people together to raise awareness, honor loved ones, and show support for those affected by suicide and mental health challenges.
We were also honored to welcome State Representative Jason Ortitay (@JasonOrtitay), who attended with one of his daughters, along with representatives from local and national mental health organizations, community members, students, and families.
A heartfelt thank-you to our student organizers, staff, athletic teams, community partners, and everyone who participated in this meaningful event. By walking together, we help break the stigma surrounding mental health and remind one another that no one has to face their struggles alone. 💚🦁🤍

For Week 3 of National Principals Month, our Mattering Monday video is dedicated to the Middle School. We asked our middle Lions how Dr. Crimone and Dr. Maurer help them know that they matter at school. Thank you, Principals, for all that you do that make differences, big and small, for our Lion Learners. We appreciate you! 💚🦁🤍

💚What a way to start the school day! 🦁📣
Our K–5 Lions were greeted with a whole lot of school spirit this morning as members of our football team, cheerleaders, and girls soccer teams lined up to welcome students to school! Whether stepping off the bus or arriving by car, students were met with cheers, high-fives, and even a few cheerleading stunts! 👏
Big thanks to football Coach Marty Spieler for organizing this fantastic start to the day! It's all about showing our youngest Lions that they are seen, valued, and celebrated. Thank you to our student-athletes for spreading positivity and making this morning extra special! 💚🤍
