"Parents regret the technologies they gave, not the technologies they withheld." Almost no parents think they waited too long to give their kids smartphones and social media. From our latest survey with @HarrisPoll nytimes.com/2025/06/18/opini…

🔜 We can't improve inclusive efforts by just adding strategies and experts; the division of educators needs to shift from "general" and "special" to complementary roles in serving all students. #LeadInclusion #EdLeaders #Teachers #UDL #EduSky

🏢 To implement UDL well, classroom teachers and special educators need scheduled time to identify barriers and co-plan. This investment pays off significantly for every student. #LeadInclusion #EduSky #UDL #InclusiveEd

“Understanding the role of working memory in learning, and knowing that some students in every class may struggle with directions, distractions and complex tasks, should prompt teachers to think about how they’re presenting material and information to students”
“Working memory can process both visual and auditory information simultaneously, but is limited in the number of items it can hold at one time. Individual differences can vary greatly, but scientists estimate that most young adults can hold three to five meaningful items or “chunks” of information in their working memory at once. When working memory is overloaded with more than five or six items, learning stops.” Great @tes piece by @HKorbey. Featuring @hruizmartin @DTWillingham. (Link follows)

The below chart shows when we elevate teaching practices across a building --- so many more kids will benefit... But none of this matters if you don’t first relate or connect with your kids. Our expectations matter! From @dougfisher @NancyFrey #LearnFwd24
