The launch of the @CAREResearch_W was a great event. The key takeaway messages for me were the importance of collaboration and conducting research with individuals rather than for them, as well as helping people thrive rather than merely survive.
'What are the grand challenges of adult social care in Wales?' - topic of the @CAREResearch_W launch's panel session. Big question! Issues around the workforce, data visibility, the heterogeneity of ageing, and more w/ @talkolderpeople @socialcarewales @WGHealthandCare @pwillis5

Fitting and inspirational talk on the importance of social care research from Albert Heaney, Chief Social Care Officer for Wales. Lovely full room for the @CAREResearch_W launch event!

Yesterday we lost my son Adam, who passed away after playing football, the sport he loved. We love him so much and the loss is devastating. He will always be with us and never forgotten.
Honoured to have been involved with the editing of this special edition of @CogitatioSI that's just come out. Great contributions from across the world and many insights on overlaps between prevention and community development: bit.ly/SocIncSpecialEd
Great pleasure to present at the National Social Care Conference #NSCC23 a little earlier today. A day full of inspirational presentations, as well as some very emotive sessions demonstrating how far we have to go to improve social care in Wales.
