After the release of the latest report from the @covidinquiryuk, we've had time to reflect on its findings and have noticed remarkable similarities between its conclusions and what our participants were all telling us right from the beginning.

Thoroughly enjoyed @ProfDiCrone's inaugural this evening. Lovely to celebrate such an excellent and very much loved academic!
Looking forward to celebrating the awesome @ProfDiCrone at her @cardiffmet inaugural today.
Di has been a huge influence in my career, both as an inspiration as an academic and as someone who has gone to great lengths to guide me through my journey. She is an excellent human.
This was a brief Twitter stop-in as Di doesn't use Bluesky (yet!). Seeing the feed now, I'm still not sad to have moved over.
Come join me! @drsumner.bsky.social
I feel like now may be a good time to remind people that Bluesky has been whirring into life for the last few months, and I can confirm it's far less fascist over there (until Space Karen buys that too).

The joy of finally successfully merging longitudinal datasets to create a mega dataset of over 800 variables is followed by the swift and perplexing defeat of forgetting how to write a paper. This is going to take a while.

It's #NationalBiscuitDay, so that means free biscuits for all our amazing donors!
Ok, ok - we know every donor gets a free biscuit every time they donate but this is a hashtag that's made for us! π

Richard Madeley explaining the plot of his new crime novel on Radio 2 just now is two minutes of pure joy, and the most @AccidentalP thing I have ever heard
Very interesting study showing neuro links (in mice) between #PTSD and #ASD. If replicated in humans, this has really big implications for those with ASD/ASC, who often experience stress and trauma just by virtue of living in an NT world.

I had a fantastic day talking all things #psychobiology with the excellent @HealthPsyStaffs students today. I had some enjoyable discussions with this great group of brilliant minds! Thank you for having me again, @StaffsPsych!
An excellent news day for me. I find out one of my superstar PGR students has passed her MSc by Research with minor corrections AND find one my former undergrad students has passed his PhD viva. Absolutely loving my early career colleagues smashing academia!
Unit 57 donated! And I'm delighted to see the heroic return of the mighty Mint Club to the Gloucester donor centre.
Your donation can save up to 3 lives. Please #giveblood if you can.

What does it mean to be neurodiversity affirmative?
@psychmag contributors consider this question & its implications for how professionals & services can adapt with a focus on the autistic experience.

I'm writing a chapter, but instead of writing it about the thing, I'm writing about why studying the thing is hard. It's like my general studies exam all over again where I answered the question "explain why Eurovision is so popular" with an essay on why the question was wrong.

π₯@Dr_Sumner discussed burnout in our recent webinar. Did you know work stress costs the UK Β£35 billion annually?
Many avoid addressing burnout, fearing acknowledgement of a toxic work culture. But avoidance perpetuates the problem
