Why can't we just say "hey man, I'm sorry your particular segment of the populace was marginalized (or worse), and take a minute to say I hope you're living better and happier than those that came before you? As a fellow human being, what can I do to make your day a little brighter?" Hope someday if I ever need it, someone will be there to brighten mine?
