Depends on the rough, the lie. Is there a forced carry? Trouble over the back? Is that distance to a front pin or back pin. I need way more info.

The correct response to every reason why a former touring pro thinks they should get amateur status back.
1. Where am I supposed to play?
Literally anywhere. Your local pga probably has a dozen individual tournaments you can play in throughout the year and another dozen team/pro ams. If you want to go the next state over, double that. There’s also open tournaments in small towns all over.
2. I don’t play that often so my skills are that of an amateur.
Get in line. You’re probably still better than 95% of club pros. None of them are clamoring for amateur status(club pros have a much better argument for amateur playing status btw.) They also don’t get much time to play or practice.
3. I don’t make a living from playing anymore.
See answer #2. Neither do club pros
4. The amateur game is no longer pure anyway.
Let’s not make it worse.
5. I want somewhere serious to complete.
Your state open isn’t prestigious enough???
6. I have to compete against mini tour guys(Colt’s response to me today.)
And??? We all have to compete against better players. I’m an amateur and have to compete against college golfers who have more time to practice, get free golf, lesson, and equipment.
