On this day in 1949, Bill Traylor, passed away. He was a self-taught artist from AL. He spent most of his life as a sharecropper. At age 85, he began drawing and painting. He produced nearly 1,500 pieces of art.  His work has been in museums in NY, ATL, DC WI, etc.
