It was times like these that he hated the size of this palace. It took way too long to get to the gardens from the second floor salon and by the time he found Luis, he was breathless. He’d not meant to startle the King.

He moved as if his feet knew the way to the south stable where his own horse awaited, already saddled.
He would be riding alone today it seemed. Probably for the best. His company would not be a sunny day.
He thought on that for a moment and concluded with a soft grunt of reluctant acceptance.
Patting the stallion’s neck a final time, he gave a quick nod of goodbye to Luis and started past.
He had the answer that he had suspected all along.
He didn’t blame Luis for choosing the ~
His lips became a straight line but he nodded.
“Yes. I wish I could meet you again for the first time, knowing what I know. It would be different.”
He could not reply to that without looking like a villain and he was tired of being the villain.
“Touché.”
Moving to Luis, he offered the reigns to the blonde.
“I hope you love him. Happy Birthday, Luis.”
He smirked a little as he and the horse took another lap around the large stall.
“You say you don’t know me anymore, but I think a lot of it is that you don’t want to.”
He looked surprised. He had intended to be gone before Luis arrived to ride.
“Bonjour, I was just getting him ready for you.”
He gave a small smile trying not to admire how good Luis looked in his riding clothes.
